She always Wanted to live in Vermont. Well, she's got a job with the Pollock-Girouard Special Detective Agency. They have a motto, too- If you've lost your mother call the police, they'll never find her, but if you've lost your best girl, call us if she's worth looking for. D: Who's that going down the street? B: Why that's Lois Foster. D: I wonder what she's doing up here? B: She's head of the W. T. C. U. in the States and is probably up here installing a new chapter. 20 THE RECORD old classmate, George Workman, second richest man in the United States, backed? D: Sure that's the one. B: George isn't the only one in the money. You remember that demon on offense and fire-horse on defense that made all-state our senior year? D: You mean Bob Revoir? B: Yes, he's All-Solar System Captain and drawing the largest salary in professional football. How about the other Co-captain of the famous team of '48? D: You must mean Bud Thompson. Well, he gave up football and along with his brother-in-law, Clarence, founded a transportation service for athletic teams. You must have heard their famous motto. B: Oh, yes, I saw it in the newspapers- Travel safely with Clarie and Bud. D: That reminds me, I was reading over the Society Page in the Courier and I saw where the two debutantes, Jean and Jane Stearns, were honeymooning in Pattenville at the home of Mayor Rupert Willey, the famous philospher, politician and statesman who graduated in our class in '48. B: I always thought those two would eventually marry. So now Jane is Mrs. Earl Boswell and Jean is Mrs. Douglas Kimball. D: By the way, did Marilyn Cady and Leo Christie finally get married? B: No, not yet. Leo had to go to Hollywood to double for John Hodiak and Marilyn is still waiting and not very patiently. D: You know Bill Stoddard had the largest judo school in the States until Reg Keniston threw him one day and hurt his back, so now Larry Myott is taking over. B: You remember the Woods sisters, Helen and Loretta. Well, they're up here in Mars and now heads of the Epra-Phone Company. D: I always thought they'd be a success. Another success in our class is Gwen Lakeway. She now writes the famous Comic Strip, Beefy Beaton. B: Remember how Rena Lefrancois and Virginia Thompson were always talking about reducing? Well, they discovered a new process for losing weight and they've become such glamour girls that the Powers Modeling Agency in New York has been trying to sign them up. D: Sheila Simons is now living in Lancaster. I understand she owns one of the biggest chicken farms in New England. B: You know Wink Weldon finally became an admiral but not in the Navy. He's running a boat line on the Ammonoosuc from Apthorp to Littleton. D: Two other members of the Class of '48 got married. B: Who's that? D: Janet Lemieux and Edith Daine. They're now living with their new husbands in Snookyville. You know this is the sixth mar- riage for both.

22 THE RECORD D: Swell, but what's Bet doing? B: She's also at the club. When she first came here, she was the chief food inspector. You know she got an MS degree in home economics in college but the testing of so much food gave her a a physique that was better suited for her new job. They needed some- one to keep the club in order so she took over the job as head bouncer. D: CLooks at watchj Great guns! My trial starts in about five minutes so I haven't time for another drink. Come over to the court house with me and we'll finish our talk later. B: Say that's a good idea. Maybe I can talk to Jack and cheer him up a little. After all more than one person ends up in jail. D: Not with C. A. on the defense, young woman.
