THE RECORD 19 should be able to visit the old folks once in a While. The children also miss the old paper mill. But what gives here? A woman in the Har- vard Club. B: Why yes, they finally admitted me because of my political reputation. Have you run across any of the old class in the States lately? D: I just saw one up here. While getting off the Milky-Way Special I saw Robert Bradley waiting for the next Skyhook. B: Did he remain a bachelor? D: No, he married the former Annie Mae McLaughlin and they have five children. B: While you were in the station did you see the big agricultural exhibition put on by Bill Carpenter and George Hicks with their famous U. S. Products? D: No, they were at the exclusive 'Rogers House across the street managed by Ed Lougee attending a banquet where Loretta Godbout Silver is singing. By the way, what happened to Bill? B: Oh, haven't you heard? He qwns a large Ankle Support Factory in Venus. D: How they do get around these days. Speaking of singing, what ever happened to that talented singer, Joan Ross? B: I got a letter from home the other day and they said that she's the star entertainer at Art's Ark. D: I hear the Ark's been remodeled to look like a big gold fish by none other than that renowned architect of the class of '48, Robert Welch. B: Say, that's swell. He always did like fishing. I hear Jim Dipucchio met Russ MacPhee down at Cradle Lake during his vacation. D: What's Jim doing now? B: Oh, the poor fellow couldn't quite make the Class D League in Texas, so he joined up with the St. Louis Browns. What kind of a job has Russ got? D: He's working for the famous Exclusive Photos by Kenis- ton. B: Remember his girl friend, Diane Carleton and the year she and Russ were voted the sharpest couple on the campus? Did their love kindle and die? D: Oh, no. She gave up her shoe store to marry Rustie, the man she loved. Say, I can't understand how they keep these streets so clean. B: Well, our new head of the health department, Odias Lefebvre, did away with picking up garbage by trucks by inventing an incinero- scoop. It scoops and buries rubbish with one motion. D: Speaking of inventions, did you know Bill Laflamme invented a new motor scooter that he uses to do all his farming with? He has a fleet of 50 and it's becoming the new look all over the United States. B: He must be doing pretty well. Was that the invention our

Doyer is sitting at a table nursing his favorite drink when Bixby Walks in. IJ: Cad! A woman in the Harvard Club! B: Well, if it isn't my old friend, C. A. Doyer. lJon't you re- member me ? D: Do I remember you ? Why, you're my old classmate, Lura Bixby. How come you're up here 'Z B: Well, you probably read in the papers about my losing the honor of being first woman president by two votes and as a result they made me Lieutenant Governor of our new territory, Mars. I notice you haven't done too badly yourself. IJ: No, I haven't. B: I received several reports about you're being the hero of the common man and the best Union Lawyer in the States. D: My natural modesty should make me deny that but we'll let it stand. Now that I think of it, your secretary must have been the one that Wrote and asked me to come up here for Jack Richardsorfs trial. B: Yes, I guess she did. Have you seen poor old Jack? D: No, not yet, but when I heard that Jupiter was suing the Commonwealth of Mars because Jack was trying to build a super sky- way to Gilman, it was most natural for me to offer my services to my old pal. Even if Jack and Norine have chosen Mars as a home they

20 THE RECORD old classmate, George Workman, second richest man in the United States, backed? D: Sure that's the one. B: George isn't the only one in the money. You remember that demon on offense and fire-horse on defense that made all-state our senior year? D: You mean Bob Revoir? B: Yes, he's All-Solar System Captain and drawing the largest salary in professional football. How about the other Co-captain of the famous team of '48? D: You must mean Bud Thompson. Well, he gave up football and along with his brother-in-law, Clarence, founded a transportation service for athletic teams. You must have heard their famous motto. B: Oh, yes, I saw it in the newspapers- Travel safely with Clarie and Bud. D: That reminds me, I was reading over the Society Page in the Courier and I saw where the two debutantes, Jean and Jane Stearns, were honeymooning in Pattenville at the home of Mayor Rupert Willey, the famous philospher, politician and statesman who graduated in our class in '48. B: I always thought those two would eventually marry. So now Jane is Mrs. Earl Boswell and Jean is Mrs. Douglas Kimball. D: By the way, did Marilyn Cady and Leo Christie finally get married? B: No, not yet. Leo had to go to Hollywood to double for John Hodiak and Marilyn is still waiting and not very patiently. D: You know Bill Stoddard had the largest judo school in the States until Reg Keniston threw him one day and hurt his back, so now Larry Myott is taking over. B: You remember the Woods sisters, Helen and Loretta. Well, they're up here in Mars and now heads of the Epra-Phone Company. D: I always thought they'd be a success. Another success in our class is Gwen Lakeway. She now writes the famous Comic Strip, Beefy Beaton. B: Remember how Rena Lefrancois and Virginia Thompson were always talking about reducing? Well, they discovered a new process for losing weight and they've become such glamour girls that the Powers Modeling Agency in New York has been trying to sign them up. D: Sheila Simons is now living in Lancaster. I understand she owns one of the biggest chicken farms in New England. B: You know Wink Weldon finally became an admiral but not in the Navy. He's running a boat line on the Ammonoosuc from Apthorp to Littleton. D: Two other members of the Class of '48 got married. B: Who's that? D: Janet Lemieux and Edith Daine. They're now living with their new husbands in Snookyville. You know this is the sixth mar- riage for both.
