D: Do I remember you ? Why, you're my old classmate, Lura Bixby. How come you're up here 'Z B: Well, you probably read in the papers about my losing the honor of being first woman president by two votes and as a result they made me Lieutenant Governor of our new territory, Mars. I notice you haven't done too badly yourself. IJ: No, I haven't. B: I received several reports about you're being the hero of the common man and the best Union Lawyer in the States. D: My natural modesty should make me deny that but we'll let it stand. Now that I think of it, your secretary must have been the one that Wrote and asked me to come up here for Jack Richardsorfs trial. B: Yes, I guess she did. Have you seen poor old Jack? D: No, not yet, but when I heard that Jupiter was suing the Commonwealth of Mars because Jack was trying to build a super sky- way to Gilman, it was most natural for me to offer my services to my old pal. THE RECORD 19 should be able to visit the old folks once in a While. The children also miss the old paper mill. But what gives here? A woman in the Har- vard Club. B: Why yes, they finally admitted me because of my political reputation. Have you run across any of the old class in the States lately? D: I just saw one up here. While getting off the Milky-Way Special I saw Robert Bradley waiting for the next Skyhook. B: Did he remain a bachelor? D: No, he married the former Annie Mae McLaughlin and they have five children. B: While you were in the station did you see the big agricultural exhibition put on by Bill Carpenter and George Hicks with their famous U. S. Products? D: No, they were at the exclusive 'Rogers House across the street managed by Ed Lougee attending a banquet where Loretta Godbout Silver is singing. By the way, what happened to Bill? B: Oh, haven't you heard? He qwns a large Ankle Support Factory in Venus. D: How they do get around these days. Speaking of singing, what ever happened to that talented singer, Joan Ross? B: I got a letter from home the other day and they said that she's the star entertainer at Art's Ark. D: I hear the Ark's been remodeled to look like a big gold fish by none other than that renowned architect of the class of '48, Robert Welch. B: Say, that's swell. He always did like fishing. I hear Jim Dipucchio met Russ MacPhee down at Cradle Lake during his vacation. D: What's Jim doing now? B: Oh, the poor fellow couldn't quite make the Class D League in Texas, so he joined up with the St. Louis Browns. What kind of a job has Russ got? D: He's working for the famous Exclusive Photos by Kenis- ton. B: Remember his girl friend, Diane Carleton and the year she and Russ were voted the sharpest couple on the campus? Did their love kindle and die? D: Oh, no. She gave up her shoe store to marry Rustie, the man she loved. Say, I can't understand how they keep these streets so clean. B: Well, our new head of the health department, Odias Lefebvre, did away with picking up garbage by trucks by inventing an incinero- scoop. It scoops and buries rubbish with one motion. D: Speaking of inventions, did you know Bill Laflamme invented a new motor scooter that he uses to do all his farming with? He has a fleet of 50 and it's becoming the new look all over the United States. B: He must be doing pretty well. Was that the invention our
