The Lions spent most of the game playing defense. Cooking Like Fire I Smoky Hill Buffaloes stampeded the Lions 21-7 to spoil any hope for a Homecoming victory. Serving Up A Storm LHS boys tennis team had an out- standing year as they finished the sea- son with a record of 8-2 and placed third in league and district. The play was presented on October 18,19, and 20, supported by a twenty-one member cast. The leading roles were filled by Deke McClelland, portraying David, and Heather Stock, playing the role of Lisa. The two act play was designed and directed by Mr. Ken Foster, with the help ot Assistant Director, Violet Rogers and Stage Manager, Tim Krout. David thinks about becoming a psychiatrist. But these girls worked hard and made a great team effort throughout the season. They took 4th in the Centennial League and 11th in state. After a traditional education, his goal is to be a dentist. Chris is staying with the Sweeney family in Littleton. He is enjoying Colorado very much and says that anyone is welcome to visit him when he returns to the Philip- pines. Keiko Kurata Keiko Kurata is a foreign exchange student from lchihava City, chiba-ken, Japan. She says that Japan is very dif- ferent from the United States. Students use the metric system, have to be 18 years old to drive, and the schooling system is more strict than ours. For instance, the girls are not allowed to curl their hair, have pierced ears, or wear make-up. The classes she is tak- ing are geometry, fun fashion, swim- ming, weight training, and U.S. history. Keiko is an only child. l-ler father is an engineer and her mother teaches Eng- lish and gives piano lessons. l-ler goal in life is to be a tennis coach or an English teacher. The juniors and seniors who participated in D.E.C.A. had 3 obligations: The classroom work, on the job training and being active in the club. ln all three, the students learned business organizations, like marketing, retailing, and manage- ment. The club, competed with other schools in a district conference which was held in Vail this year. In competition, the students acted out an occupation and solved problems that arose. They were judged by professionals in the occupation which they acted out. The musical was adapted to rock music and based on the play by William Shakespeare. LHS's pro- duction ot Two Gentlemen of Verona consisted of 33 cast members who sang and danced during the performance. Mr. Ken Foster directed the rock musical with the help ot Mr. Don Arnold directing the ensemble. The LHS Jazz band, directed by Mr. Jim Anderson, accompanied the cast. This organization has been in progress at Littleton for over fifteen years, and for the students that are motivated toward the business world it is still going strong. They visited a variety of businesses to familiarize the students in the fields that they hope to achieve. Meeting are held the second Wednes- day of every month, in the business lab. Students involved in this activity may compete in the district contest to increase their ability and raise their standards.
