X' Fx' 2 i Q N1 X5 RS 4 Leo, the littlest lion, lived in the dark jungles of Africa, but, even there, he heard news of Littleton Senior High. Why, it must really be a good school! Please, may I go there for a year--just one year? Leo asked his parents. Leo received permission, and this fall he came to Littleton. Our school was so big that it scared little Leo. But wherever he went, friendly faces greeted him and made him feel at home. Soon, little Leo even forgot to be shy. He began to take an interest in his surroundings. He even joined a few clubs which gave him even more courage. Then he tried out for football! Although he didn't make varsity, he be- came one of our most avid spectators--especially when we took state. However his school spirit was so good that he received an honorary letter sweater--a little oversized, of course. When Leo was interviewed before he returned home, he said that he wanted to show the students his appreciation for their kindness -and friendliness by presenting them with a record of their high school life. ln the following pages, Leo.will try to present a true picture by using pictures of our students and activities. Leo also said he hoped the students will like this souvenir. We hope you will like it, too! The 1960 Staff fl i E I . f j K A HW V200 Raft 1 Nt 9 3 1 M 'l l T . The Lions now stand on top of state AA competition in both football and basketball. The Lions squeaked through a playoff game with Cherry Creek, who was tied with the Lions for Adams- Arapahoe led, 49-48 in an overtime period. ln the opening game of the state tournament, Littleton was matched against Montrose. The Lions pulled away quickly, running a 42-25 lead at halftime. Montrose, still smarting from the defeat Littleton handed them in the state football championship game, tried desperately to stage a rally. The Lions hung on, and closed the game 73-67. George Braucht was high point man with 22 points, Dave Sigafoos had T8, Maurice Ervin had 10, Ed Hines, 9. In the final state championship game, Lions outran and outscored the Pueblo County Hornets 72-41 in the Denver Coliseum. Sigafoos was the big man in scoring columns for Littleton, his 25 points in this final game broke the league's record for number of points scored in a tournament. Hines followed with l7, Braucht and Ervin each sunk lO. As a result of performance in the tourney, Dave Sigafoos was chosen for the Denver Post All State Team. Sigafoos, George Braucht, Maurice Ervin, and Ed Hines were chosen for the Denver Post All State Class AA Team. Coach Kohl's ability and faith in the boys is perhaps the most important reasons the Lions made such a fine show- ing this season. ' The Managers The important job of the managers is many times overlooked. Without the managers to keep the players in top conditioning the team would be at a loss.
