We, the Senior Class of 1959, in looking back through the years, realize that we owe a debt of gratitude to our able class advisors, Miss Held and Mr. Evans. They have aided and guided us Through these past years which have flown by all too quickly. Although Miss Held has not been present in this, our senior year, we know that she has been with us in spirit. lvlr. Evans has very ably taken on the responsibility of leading us without assistance through one of the most important years of our lives. Therefore, as a Senior Class, we humbly and graciously say, Thank You. 4

The adage Here Today, Gone Tomorrow, may well express the passing of time along this milestone of your educational experience. High school was iust another one of those life markers and how far you travel depends on your indi- vidual initiative and interest. Your present ad- vance is evidence of your desires to go forward. Then too, may you continue to grow in knowl- edge and understanding of life and its problems. Stavely To the graduation Class of 1959 The disciplined mind is what education at every level should strive to produce. The years from six to eighteen are the years in which young men and women must learn to think clearly and ac- curately if they are to learn to think at all. The seed must be planted at the beginning and cultivated continuously if the crop is to be ready when it is required. These intellectual abilities are required, not merely as a prerequisite for advanced study, but also and especially for intelligent participation in the private and public affairs of a world where decisions must be made on the basis of informed and accurate thinking about science, about economics, about history and politics. lSignedJ Frank E.
