SENICR CLASS PROPHECY Glancrng through my darly marl, and feelrng very depressed wrth so many brlls and advertrsements, my eyes suddenly beheld a large letter bearrng a navy rnsrgnra As I opened rt and read rt, I drscovered rt was from Larry Senrz an old classmate I had not seen srnce graduatron In hrs letter he rnformed me of the low morale of hrs fellowmen, and asked rf there was any thrng I could do to cheer them up Immedrately a great rdea struck me Durrng our school days our class showed much talent and co operatron So why couldnt we get together and conduct a varrety show for Larry and hrs gang? I decrded the best thrng to do was to get rn touch wrth someone rn the home town Realrzrng that the most rnformed classmate would be Shrrley Sparver local telephone operator, I asked her to get rn touch wrth the local members of the class of 53 Margaret Myers, prrvate secretary and Arlene Shoemaker, secretary for P Kent Foods Incorporated were to notrfy those lrvrng out of town of the plans The next few days were spent rn arrangrng the acts and completrng the few remarnrng detarls Frnally th brg day lune 1 was here I was walkrng nervously backstage checkrng on last mrnute arrangements, when I spred a group of people talkrng together As I got closer I recognrzed them as lohn Trrsh farmer brag grng to Shrrley Wantz and Drane Cornell two nurs s about hrs successful farm Alvrn Spangler was also there ompetrng wrth ohn rn hrs tall tales of the farm I-Iavrng just recerved a telegram from Rrchard Moos and Kenneth Reed two arrforce men tellrng us thev were unable to get a leave, I had to frnd Bob Koontz nharmacrst who was th master of ceremonres and ex plarn the change to hrm At last I found h m drscussrng pharmacy wrth a colleague oann Del-Ioff Our band strrkrng up the musrc rnformed us that the show had started I recognrzed the band as berng composed of Dean Bankert busrnessman, Lou Etta Mrller, elemen t1ry school teacher, Loy Lee Krng, restaurant manager Shrrlev Str-nesrfer, ' s V 9 SOPHOMCRE CLASS HISTORY The Class of '55, ninety-Five strong, entered the por- tals of L.H.S. on September 10, 1949, eagerly looking forward to our new surroundings. For the first few days we wandered around confused and dazed by the class bell and many rooms. Adjusting ourselves to this new school life, many of us participated in sports, band, chorus, and the Underclassmen Play, The Uncertain Age. The high spots of the year included the Valentine Party and the school picnic at Forest Parlc After a much needed vacation we returned to school minus ten of our classmates This year we didnt need guidance to our classrooms Our boys joined in and helped to keep the unior High on top in the sports field while others of us contributed our talents to the Underclassmen Pay and unior High Musicale In the second semester we ordered our class rings and en joyed the Valentine Party As the eldest class in the junior High, it was up to us to set the example for our younger schoolmates. Only sixty-three of us remained, but we did our share in the held of sports, music. and drama. The features of the year included trips to Harrisburg, Hershey Chocolate Factory and the Adams County Courthouse, receiving our class rings, and decorating for the Sweetheart Dance.
