aawfu, pg gm pg 7952 On September 1 1948 to the tune of the Hawaiian guitars fourteen lei bedecked green bashful l1ttle freshmen opened the doors of the Little York Community High School The class consisted of Charles Hale Ronald Hawkins Robert Laird James Reynolds Gerald Stokes Arthur Young Jane Ballard Barbara Brown Kay Brownlee Norma Dutton Edna Lee Patricia McCullough Betty Smlth and Dorothy Thieme At the first class metlng Barbara Brown was elected as President Ronald Hawk ins VICE Pres1dent Dorothy Thieme Secretary Jane Ballard Treasurer James Reyn olds Reporter Charles Hale as Student Council Representative In October the class members were 1n1t1ated by the upper classmen but good The freshmen weathered the ordeal verv well 1n fact it was the Jumor that got the 1n1t1at1on 1n the cemetery Mr Franklln Prlnclpal acted as class sponsor until the fourth class meeting when Mr Foster was elected as sponsor for the rest of the year In May the class officers were elected as follows Barbara Brown President Charles Hale V1cePres1dent Ronald Hawkins Secretary James Reynolds Treasurer Kay Brownlee Reporter Robert Laird Student Council Representative Lois Newton transferred to L Y C H S during the second semester Corn pickmg as a class project during the fall expanded the treasurv mcelv were Ronald Hawkins and Dorothy Thleme In Mav the girls served as waitresses at the Junior Senior Banquet The Junlor year opened Wlth Mrs Jmks and Mr Hart as class advisers and new officers James Reynolds President Robert Laird V1cePres1dent Jane Ballard Sec retary Kay Brownlee Treasurer Edna Lee Reporter Asslstant Editor of the Annual Barbara Brown Student Council Representative Dorothy Thleme During the Jumor year the proceeds from the football and basketball food stands mcreased the amount in the class treasury The class candidate for king and queen of the carnlval were Ronald Hawkins and Kay Brownlee The Juniors received their new class rings ln November We Shook the Family Tree directed by Miss Huston was the Junior class play produced in November As the question of the Prom arose there was some difficulty in making a de c1s1on but it was finally voted to serve the dmner and have the dance at the Elks Club in Monmouth and in spite of a few feuds and mlsunderstandlngs it was a suc cessful event everyone had fun As the school year of 1951 1952 opened the fourteen people who had entered the halls so t1m1dly three years before were now xery proud to be called seniors Lois New ton had transferred to Monmouth This the last one has been a very busy year Mr Luckenblll was elected sponsor of the class The officers were Dorothy Thleme Pres1dent Charles Hale VICE Presi THIRTY SIX O v 9 H I 1 .' 'ft gm Pnophecq, gm pg 7952 Barbara Colhns a swlmmlng 1nstructor ln HHWHII was recl1n1ng on the beach She had been teachlng sw1mm1ng for ten years After a hard day of 1nstruct1ng the younger set to sw1m she lay down on the beach for a few m1nutes to rest Acc1dentally fall1ng asleep sl1e dreamed about what her classmates of the graduatlng class of Llttle York Commun1ty Hlgh School 1952 were do1ng The f1rst person 1n her dream was Norma Dutton who IS now settled down on a ranch IH Wyommg She and Rondal are very busy w1th the1r 5000 acre ranch In Iowa she dreams of Arthur Young he IS busy belng the electronlc engmeer of Statlon WOC TV He has a very hard t1me makmg the actors keep away from elec tr1cal gadgets Well there IS Barbara Brown Barbara IS the teacher at Belmont Grade School She has qu1te a hard t1me trylng to teach school and keep house for Dean Now the dream travels northwest to MIHHCSOIH There IS Jane Ballard runmng a lake resort She and Dlck have been 1n th1S buslness for the last e1ght years What does Barbara see now'7 Why It s Bob Lalrd 1n Canada Bob IS rmgmaster of the Rlnghng Brothers C1rcus wh1ch IS now on tour 1n southern Canada It was never thought w1th Bob s low VOICE that he s be a rmgmaster Barbara now sees Jerry Stokes 1n New York C1ty It seems Jerry has always been mterested 1n boxmg so now he IS the owner and manager of Mad1SOH Square Garden Golng south agaln Barbara f1nds Betty Smlth down at M1am1 Beach Flor1da She IS s1ng1ng Wlth one of thlrteen bands 1n a famous n1ght club Out across the ocean to Europe but on the way Barbara Sp16S Ronny Hawkms on a blg ocean l1ner Sure enough Ronny Jolned the Navy to see the world and dlffer ent types of glrls too Stoppmg at London England there IS Edna Lee Edna IS head cashler of the In ternatlonal Bank of England She worked hard for that pos1t1on In Par1s France IS Patty McCullough who IS now a famous deslgner of clothes for all the Hollywood stars She IS 1n Parls looklng over the fashlons Now on the dark cont1nent of Afrlca we see Jlm Reynolds Jlm was g1ven a chance to go there through h1S agr1culture work He and Eunlce have been there for gomg on seven years On the cont1nent on the other s1de of the world Barbara sees Kay Brownlee Kay IS on tour around Austraha now w1th her own company of roller skaters Kay al ways 11ked skatmg but I 1mag1ne even she d1dnt real1ze that one day shed be skatmg all over the world Barbara Collms dream was gomg along so smoothly when all at once she IS rudely awakened It seems there are more chlldren Waltlng to be taught swlmmlng As she goes about her work she smlles about the d1fferent occupatlons her classmates have 1n her dream and also how they have scattered over the world THIRTY EIGHT i 7 1 ' , . v 1 1 ' 9 . ,' . 7 1 7 - ., . . .. . , . , . . , . , . 1 9 ' , .. . . . . .. . , . . .
