Klan, Jidito of the class members wore their rings for a couple of months after we got them! We were surely proud of them. Pauline Gott dropped out after the second semester to be married. Mary Dame- wood transferred from Monmouth to begin her second semester in Little York. In the month of May we gave our Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. Our theme was Hawaiian. The sophomore girls wore hula skirts and a flower in their hair while they served the meal in the study hall. Miss Leaverton, our sponsor, knew a girl from Hawaii, and had her make leis for the guests. The gym was decorated with palm trees, Hawaiian scenes and colors. Our class was in charge of decorations for the commencement exercises of the seniors. The coming year of 1952-1953 was the year that most of us wanted to see. Our class had a total of twelve members Dick Clark was elected President' Martha Gavin Secretary Mary Damewood Student Council Representative Philip Larson Vice Pres ident Evelyn Taylor Treasurer Mr Luckenbill was elected as our adviser for the final year at L Y C H S For most of the senior boys football practice started in August Dean Armstrong was chosen football captain this year On October 6 three carloads of seniors started for Davenport to have the senior pictures taken When that was done we had interesting tours of various places in the city Remember what happened after we went to the show that night? After the proofs came back some of the class members didnt know whether to keep them or not The senior play Act Your Age was presented under the direction of Mrs Luckenbill in the early fall with a large crowd in attendance Purple and gold tassels with purple gowns were ordered for graduation Christmas card selling and Valley Conference advertising came at the same time The boys hate to admit it but the girls out sold them in the Christmas cards contest There was a little question over the advisability of putting out an annual but it was decided to go ahead with it and make enough money for it and the trip too We all had a wonderful time in Little York Community High School Its beginning to get too dark for further hunting so I had better be getting home bs.. ,YN W7 ,Z wifi! . ,itil I .fix FOURTELEN ' 1 v v S , . 9 1 , - . - , , . . , .
