Quimby. fl With a large turnout of Freshman and Sophomores, the R-Team gained much needed experience, and at the same time finished the season with ten wins and nine losses. Upper classmen Dave Hoffmann, Jack Kaphingst, Don Flanagan, Merlin Fecker and Tom Martin carried the brunt of the load. Mr. Neerdaels guided the team composed of twenty men,1ncluding eight freshman, seven soph- mores, three juniors, one senior. These men should supply a fine nucleus for next year's squad. C Raw , 9 A. Those were the highlights of the most successful basketball season in Little Rolf High School history. Under the fine leadership of Nr. Paul Gruentzel, the Senior combination of John Raffln, Arlyn Becker. Juniors, Dave Peterson, Chuck Jepson and Carley Lepak swept aside almost all the opponents they faced, and were considered hy many one of the best teams in this area. With Recker and Peterson, second and fourth highest scorers in the conference leading the way the Wolves won l9 and lost S ovor the lQ5h-ES SGBSODQ The close of Manawa. Manawa the sub-dlstrfct tournament and our Wolves swept through Shlocton, Weyauwega, and won the sub-district title over We moved to Amherst where we played a strong Westfield them 55-MO for the district championship. On the basis of rightto compete inthe Regional tournament at Stevens the first round, and were defeated 65-S9 in a hotly- Wolves, however, returned to their winning ways and time 61-S9 for Consolation Honors. The trlbuteto our Wolves,the all-conference choices were Arlyn Becker,and Dave Peterson,flrst team: John Raffln, second teamg Chuck Jepson, honorable mention.
