They promptly elected the officers for the year. They were: Arlyn Becker, president: John Baffin, vice-president, Verlea Thompson, secretary-treasurer, and the student council re- presentatives, Mary Klapper, Joan Johnson, and Janet Gehrke. The following from the class tried their luck at football and did quite well: Arlyn Becker, Don Dickson, Frank Dretke, Don Fahser, Don Flan- agan, John Kelley, and John Raffin. Chuck Grif- fith acted as manager. When the basketball season opened, the fol- lowing reported for action: Arlyn Becker, Don Flanagan, John Kelley, and John Baffin. To cheer the teams on to victory, the class produced four cheerleaders: Mary Klapper, Nancy Kersten, and Shirley Cronce on the HAH squad,and Janet Gehrke on the HBH squad. They ordered their class rings quite early in the year and were very pleased with them. -3o..

Win- ning here and going on to Amherst were Joyce Taylor, Verlea Thomp- son, Nancy Kersten, Mary Klapper, and Janet Gehrke. The prom was April 2l+, the theme, UBlue Moonu, and was car- ried out by the music of Jimmy James. Arlyn Becker reigned as king and Sally Hart was his queen.
