The Most Beautiful High School In America LITTLE ROCK CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL 14th and Park Streets Phone FRanklin 5 1285 Little Rock, Arkansas May I, 1955 Dear Seniors: The 1955 PIX makes another fine volume for Little Rock Central High School's of 1955. The story of the Class of 1955 is one of impressive achievements. Not the least of these is the fact that the members of the class from all sections of Little Rock and Pulaski Cour.ty have learned to work together as a group, under their chosen officers, for the accomplishments and objec- tives of the class. In doing so, they have developed new friendships and have discarded outgrown rivalries and old prejudices to develop new and wider loyalties. The individual accomplishments of the members of the Class of 1955 have been as noteworthy as their group achievements. In scholarship, so many have excelled that honor organizations have gone to a record enrollment. In citizenship, no class has had more to boast of. Members of the class have worked in service groups for the good of the school and the community never before equalled. In talent--scientific, musical, forensic, dramatic, literary-- the class can provide more than its quota. And each member of the class can feel a justifiable pride in his individual achievement, graduation from a high school which ranks with the best in the nation. As we say Good Luck to this, one of the last classes in which all geographical sections of Little Rock will be together in Central High School, we hope that the Fighting Tiger, the emblem whose unbowed spirit resists defeat and glories in victory, passed on to you by those who have gone before, will symbolize your courage and determination as you face the future. If the students of the present and the future will emulate the patterns you have set of wholesome activities and of scholastic attainment, Little Rock Central High School will move forward to greatly increased educational leadership and responsibility. pictorial record with much emphasis on the accomplishments of the Class Cordially yours, Jess W. Matthews, Principal JWM:jr
