The class in Vergil composed of Seniors and juniors, though small in number yields to none of its predecessors L in excellent work accomplished. ffl X I The Sophomores after having fought two great wars with Caesar in one year, be' iii came his valiant soldiers in many later campaigns. Latin I is composed of Freshmen and some Sophomores and juniors, who, not real' N izing the value of Latin in the heginning of their course entered this year, thus making a i class of first quality. yi All three classes have heen interested in compiling Latin Scrap books that are I I f decorative as well as instructive. f After a lapse of three years French has heen reinstated in the curriculum. SCIENCE DEPARTMENT 1 Mr Frump-Biology, General Science Mr. Newberg-Physics ,n The science oifered in the high school course gives the student an idea of the ' workings of the world in which he lives. General Science required of freshmen treats Z of science in a general way. Biology, also a required subject, coming in the sophomore ,- year acquaints the pupil with the truths of plant and animal life. Physics, an elective ' course for seniors deals with the subjects of mechanics, heat, sound, light, electricity I and magnetism in a more specific way than in general science. . de MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT , I Miss Tribbey-Algebra Mr. Newberg-Geometry . That interest in this department has revived is shown by the greatly increased . ' size of the classes in Plane Geometry and Algebra I. With one exception all who had . I Plane Geometry last year, have taken Advanced Algebra and Solid Geometry this year , and have displayed remarkable mathematical ability. HISTORY DEPARTMENT K Miss Deeter--Ancient and Modem , Mr. Newberg-American The greatest characters and problems of all ages are met in History. By studying 1 these the students are better equipped for the present and the future.
