This is effected through the study' of world and American history' plus national prohlems. Through the medium uf these sulye- yiects. students see the ever-changing world and the part which they play' in it. 'l'hey' glean a knowledge ot their own country' and its social. economic. and political relationships with the other nations of the world. Thus. they hecome hetter ahle to understand the present- day' difhculties which are commanding the attention ot our people. 'lihe debates and panel discussions which motivate the classroom work force the students to do more intelligent reading of current periodicals and newspapers to ascertain the opinion of others. .-Xs a result. they think more deeply' and torm their own opinions hased on sound judgment. Thus. they are trained to take their part in the affairs of their country' in those after-school days of maturity.
