senior class prophesy I, Tom Unick, was just finishing the afternoon chores when I noticed my prize cow wasn't feeling very well. I randomly picked a vet out of the yellow pages and called him up. Meanwhile I finished cleaning out my quonset, because it was the place chosen for our 10 year class reunion. I was parking my machinery outside so we could have more room when the catering truck pulled in to deliver our refreshments for the evening. You'll never guess who was driving the truck. Yep, Bob Slocum. Bob said this was the biggest delivery he had had in a long time. He also said he enjoyed his work very much especially since they had nominated him the official taste tester of their product. All of a sudden Bob and I noticed this pick- up flying down the driveway about 90 m.p.h. It screeched to a stop in front of my house. A tall man got out carrying a black bag. As he got closer I realized that it was Bruce Guthard. When I asked why he was hurrying he said he was hurrying so he wouldn't be late to his class reunion and didn't realize that the sick cow and the reunion were both at my place. I directed him to the cow and he said he would have her on her feet in no time. When I was walking back to the quonset I saw several cars coming down the driveway. It was Bonnie Norden, Maxine Vocke and Marcia Lovitt. When they got out of their cars, they began chattering so fast that I could barely get in a word as to where the refreshments were. I learned that Bonnie was now a L.P.N. and it was probably a good thing because Bruce was now running to the building holding on to his bloodied finger. Bruce said he had some antiseptic and thread in his black bag. Bonnie got them and proceeded to sew his finger up. When everything calmed down we realized that we had forgotten about the cow. Bruce and I ran out there and luckily everything checked out fine. When I got back to the quonset I soon learned that Marcia was now a home economics teacher and Maxine was a certified public accountant. The two of them were discussing the disposal of my old oil can collection and spare parts, then remodeling it into a coordinated penthouse office suite where I could keep my books. While Marcia was working on the designing, Maxine was calculating this minor change which only involved a few thousand dollars. Ha, just pocket change, I wish. Suddenly there was a horrible, high pitched squawking noise so we all ran outside. All my tame ducks were scattering every direction. We discovered the source of the noise. There stood Cathy Coleman with a duck call in her mouth and a camera up to her eye. Cathy explained that she was trying to get a picture of a group of ducks that she needed for her photo which had been printed earlier which were excellent, but I think she should give up duck calling. I had to get back outside as I could see Bob needed some help unloading his truck. I didn't quite make it in time as Bob popped his back out of joint. He couldn't even stand up. I didn't know what to do so I ran to the quonset to get some help. When I explained what happened they told me not to worry because Kim Sekutera had just arrived and she was now a physical therapist. Kim said no problem. She asked me if I had a block and tackle and a crowbar. Once I brought these, Kim hoisted Bob up, made a few minor vertebrae adjustments with the crowbar and soon had Bob feeling as good as new. It wasn't long after that we had everything unloaded and headed back to the quonset to cool off and who should be waiting at the door to greet up but Mike Wilson, Lyle Rachow and Jody Sweley. Mike is now raising horses in Kentucky. He has his own ranee, a couple hundred head of horses and this year one of his horses will be running in the Belmont Stakes. Sure hope his horse runs faster than Mike did when he was in high school. Seems like some little female always had him corraled back then. Lyle has his own farm and seems to keep busy with his 15 pivots and dairy operation. With all that practice he got in milking while he was in school, he just couldn't let that experience go to waste. I finally caught up to Jody. She had just been wandering around visiting with all the old classmates. Jody told me she was in data processing and worked various jobs in different parts of the country. She still hasn't decided to settle down and stay in one place. That's nothing new with Jody. She always was a little confused! Well, everybody has showed up except Dave Peck and Scott Lewis. Nobody was worried because they always seem to run late. I heard a funny buzzing noise and went outside to investigate. I walked to the middle of the yard and the noise stopped. There wasn't anybody coming in the driveway so I started walking back. As I turned around a shadow hoovered over me. I looked up and saw a small airplane coming right a me and only about 8 feet off the ground. I hit the ground, grabbing for what hair I had left. As the plane went by I saw two men holding their sides and laughing. It was Dave and Scott. They landed in my alfalfa field and soon came to the building. They are now both engineers working for a large firm. Now that everybody was here, it was time to start our reunion. It turned out to be a good time for everybody and like always, full of excitement.
