I’m still willing to do an honest day’s work for a week's pay. KAY LEWANDOWSKI Beware of food that melts in your mouth — it may bulge in your stomach. DAVID KWIATKOWSKI Don't meet trouble halfway. It is quite capable of making the entire journey. ED LOVITT RANDY LUCAS If hard work is the key to success then I would rather pick the lock. MIKE REYNOLDS What the heart knows today the head will understand tomorrow. Success is being able to hire someone to mow the lawn while you play poker for exercise. DIANE SEKUTERA It’s not so easy being small, but it’s not so bad cither. 5 TAMMY SIEBKE BRENDA SLOCUM If everything seems to be going well you have obviously overlooked something. DORI SLOCUM The road to success is usually under con- struction. BRAD TESMER All I want is less to do, more time to do it, ' So you want to be a rock and roll star just and more pay for not getting it done. listen now to what I say, get yourself an electric guitar, take some lime and learn to play. 6 KIM UNICK STACEY UNICK Worrying never solves anything but it gives you something to do until the trouble starts. Everytime you put your best foot forward somebody steps on it. JEAN WARDYN Whatever it is that somebody did that you didn’t want done I didn't do it. Class Motto: A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Rod, even though he doesn’t need it. I Randy Lucas will my ability to wreck a car with a little influence to Mark Lewis. If this drives you to drink, remember to thank me. I Mike Reynolds will a can of firm grip to Rod Lovitt so you’ll inherit my ability to hang on to all the football passes next year. I Diane Sekutera will my ability not to get wet when it rains to Rodney Guthard. After all, the rain gets to Rodney before I even see a cloud! I Tammy Sicbkc will a box of Cracker Jacks to Kim Albers because that’s where she got her last driver’s license. With the new one maybe you can get a job at school driving the bus. ED LOVITT AND DIANE SEKUTERA 9 CLASS PROPHECY OF 1980 The year is 1990 and 1 Brenda Slocum, am spending my winter vacation in a popular ski resort with a broken leg. Next year think I’ll break down and rent skis instead of using my own! Thank goodness my work with handicapped children has proved to be a personal benefit not only helping children but being able to borrow a pair of crutches to hobble around. Upon my arrival at K D Ski Haven, I was surprised to learn that David Kwaitkowski and Kay Lewandowski own it. David decided to give up his demolition derby business shortly after high school and started the ski resort. Kay became rather wealthy from her computer programming and bought half interest from David. David now runs the skiing part while Kay takes care of the restaurant. Kay got so busy with her computers and food business that she hired a manager for the restaurant. I couldn’t believe he management staff. Kim Unick is the manager and does a great job as business really picked up. She finally needed help keeping the books and hired Tammy Siebke and Dori Slocum as her personal secretaries. I dropped by their office one day and thought I was on a farm. There sure was a lot of cackling going on, so I just joined in. I wonder how they ever get anything done! Everything at K D Ski Haven seem to be running smoothly, but without the help of Terry Kratzer, Brad Tesmer and Randy Lucas things wouldn’t run at all. Randy uses his mechanical ability keeping the ski lift running, while Terry and Brad handle the shocking job as electricians. I always wondered how Terry got his curly hair. Just hope Brad keeps his fingers out of the light sockets! I found out that Jean Wardyn has been doing well in her psychology field. She has been practicing while here on vacation. Mike Reynolds, Diane Sekutera, and Ed Lovitt have unwillingly become her victims. She keeps trying to convince them they can ski, but 2 of 3 couldn’t be convinced. A tree wouldn’t move out of Ed and Mike’s way, so they left a couple souvenirs for the tooth fairy. They visited an old school chum who was even better tham the tooth fairy. She replaces teeth! Pam Albers is working as a dental technican. After Ed and Mike had their teeth replaced they were able to tell me what they had been doing since high school. Mike said he's been up to a lot of no good which is normal for him and Ed is an Ag. teacher and is doing a little moonlighting on the side. He has a specially designed greenhouse behind the K D Restaurant. Diane was the lucky one in the ski attempt. She was short enough and smart enough to go under the tree branches. She told me all that study and scientific research she’s done helped her calculate the height of the tree branches from the ground. After all this excitement we decided to have lunch at the K D Restaurant. The food was just superb. Ed told us that Stacy Unick was the head chef and the one he made he greehouse for. Guess Stacey won’t use anything but fresh, homegrown herbs and vegetables. She always was a good cook, but this was a feast for kings! I’ve really enjoyed running into everybody from the 1980 graduating class. I’d better pack and hurry home as my vacation ended to quickly. I hope I get to see everyone again in the next decade. The highlight of the season came with a second place finish in Districts, losing only to state-bound Elba. The aggressiveness, dedication and hard work of the girls prompted the good season. With the J.V. compiling a glossy 8-2 record, the outlook for the 1980-81 season is very promising. mi x Haven't quite kicked the habit coach?
