BACK ROW: Mr. Williams, Melody Wilson, Mary Jane Adams, Diane Wardyn, Lisa Lewis, Kay Lewandowski, Joan Rey- nolds, Karen Riessland, Bernie Kieborz, Amy Albrecht, Mr. Streit. The 1976-77 volleyball team made Litchfield history with a record of 9-5, the best in years. After attending a volleyball camp in July, they rallied on to a 5-0 record. Only to be halted temporarily by Ansley and Pleasanton. One of our key players, Karen Riessland, was forced to the bench by a fractured foot for two weeks. The girls entered the Loup Valley Conference Tournament with a confident 6-2 record, falling to Arcadia in the semi-finals. We were happy to take a third place trophy home. Only to fall again to Arcadia in the first round of the Red Raider Invitational, leaving us with an 8-4 re- cord. The Trojans fell a final time in the District semi-finals. They Played a tough three sets, losing 7-15, 15-8, 2-15, a final time to Arca- dia, District and Class D State participants. This final fall indeed was a well played season. Karen Riessland was named LVC East Division All Conference Player with Diane Wardyn and Robyn Unick earning Honorable Mention.
