Reserves Have “500 Season Coach Bob Smith The Litchfield Varsity Trojans played 23 games during the 1971-72 basketball sea- son. The Trojans placed first in the SLAP Tourney and second in both the Cedar Valley Conference and District Tournaments. They set three new re- cords during the season. Most points scored during a game--108 points versus Taylor; 28 rebounds by Chuck Bacus in a single game versus Greeley; 20 points scored in a quarter for seven consecutive quarters. The Trojan Reserves of 1971-72 compiled a respectable record of 9-6. A lack of height was the biggest deficit. However, through tremendous hustle and desire, the younger Trojans did well against their competition. KAUFMANN-WERNERT of kearney WARREN R. The Litchfield Junior High Trojans en- joyed a successful season as the Freshmen finished the season undefeated. The 7th and 8th graders also shared the spotlight by winning third place trophies in both the Pleasanton and Litchfield Invitational Tournaments. The high point of the season was the winning of the Cedar Valley Con- ference Junior High Tournament as Wol- bach fell by 20 points in the semi-finals, and a fine Arcadia team lost to our Junior High Trojans, 58 to 49.
