At that Vme there were twelve boys and tvTelve girls. The class officers that year were: Peggy Janitscheck—Presi- dent, Buddy Criffield—Vice-President, Yvonne Jones—Secretary, Lloyd Reitz— Treasurer, and Ronnie Johns and Audrey Nilsen--News Reporters. We sold maga- zines that veer and made the tidy little sum of thiety-eight dollars. Our class sponsors were Mr. Semilev and Mr. Robbins. We held a wild hayrack ride the tenth of Aoril as our class p rtv. As freshmen ve were required to take English, genenal math or algebra, general science, and either home economics or vocational agriculture. Four and one half months later we returned as sophomores. Our officers that year were: LeRoy Asher—President, Peggy Janitscheck—Vice-President, Alice Brisbane—Secretary, Lloyd Reitz—Treasurer, and Ronnie Johns and Audrey Nilsen—News Reporters. We had a car wash to make money this year, which was not the most prosperour thing that ever happened to us. We lost Ann Marie Andrewjeski in February. Andrewjeski-1 s moved to Ravenna. Our sponsors this year were Mr. Kohlscheen and Mr. Smalley. We decided to pick up corn in April to make more money. We had a fabulous turn-out of five people. Darwin Blanchard left us at the end of our sophomore year. August 29, I960, twenty-two of us returned for our Junior year..as upper classmen. The officers that year were: LeRoy Asher—President, Lloyd Reitz Vice-President, Peggy Janitscheck—Secretary, Alice Brisbane—Treasurer, and Audrey Nilsen—News Reporter. This was the year we had all been waiting for. We selected our play, Man Overboard . We presented it on November 30 and December 1, despite the complications caused by an early blizzard. It was a sensation of course. We received our class rings in December to everyone's delight. The next big thing in our Junior year was the Junior-Senior Prom. The waiters and waitresses for the prom were: Patsy Tesmer, LaVon Reitz, Deanna Spencer, Betty Hansen, Carol Beck, Glen Dale Jensen, Loren Vian, Ed Young, Gerald Sweley, and Duane Schade. We had great fun planning and decorating for it and we chose Oriental Gardens as our theme. In the cen- ter of the gym we had a Chinese pagoda. We hung-lanterns about- the gyg, . to add to the oriental environment. The Jack Munson orchestra furnished the music and a good time was had by all. A few months passed, and at last we had reached our long awaited year— Seniors.'.' We had one new student, Keith Mason, who moved here from Oconto. The class officers for the year are as follows: Peggy Janitscheck—Pres- ident, Terry Hanshew—Vioe-President, Alice Brisbane—Secretary, Audrey Nilsen—Treasurer, and Ron Siegel—News Reporter. We welcomed the Freshmen with a rain followed h a dance in the gym. he class sponsors for the year are Mr. Kohlscheen and Mrs. Diefcndcrfer. The first semester was enlightened with senior portraits at Haberman's in Hastings and ordering our announcements.. The annual staff foe the year was: Yvonne Jones—editor, Dixie Skala—Assist- ant editor, LeRoy Asher—Business Manager, Marcia Kusek—Assistant Business manager, and Terry Hanshew—Photographer. Our advisor for the annual staff was Mrs. Diefenderfer. Our senior class play was Washington Never Slept Here . It was another smash hit- - - -of course. We all enjoyed putting it on and we had many good times at play practice. We went to Omaha for our sneak day. We visited such places as Joslyn Mem- orial and the Cooper Theatre, and enjoyed ourselves immensely We spent some time developing our mu so lee bowling and we had a delicious Qiauier at icij Fong's Chinese restaurant. One of the unusual things about the class of 62 is that five of the twenty-three began school at Litchfield and attended for the full twelve years together. This group is Daryl Comford, Terrel Hanshew, Richard Kowalewski, Yvonne Jones and Betty Sanders. We wish to thank the Juniors for a wonderful prom, which we enjoyed immensely. The jungle theme was very beautiful, and the meal was delic- ious. Yvonne Jones and LeRoy Asher were crowned the king and aueen of our prom. The attendants were Peggy Janitscheck, Alice Brisbane, Bud Criffield, and Daryl Cornford. We conclude our Senior year of '62 looking forward to Baccalaureate and commencement exercises.
