Cn September 6 1944 seventy SQHIOIS srgned up for therr fourth clnd last year ln the L C 11 S As we look back over the three years that have passed we regret tn a way that they have passed so qulckly ln 1941 as freshmen we numbered 120 strong We chose loyce Satterlee to lead us w1th Bruce Mrx to help her and Dons Hart to take care of our ftnancral affalrs We chose Mrss Kasten Mrss Young and Mrss Grrswold to gurde us That year many freshmen took part rn most of the OC11Vl119S such as the operetta band athlet1cs May Pete g1rls chorus etc As freshmen We really got off to a good start The year 1942 saw us as sophomores only IU1 1n number th1s t1me As a student body we had decreased 1n number but we rn creased rn knowledge Th1s year we chose as our leaders Bruce Mrx Presrdent Norma Olmger Vrce pres1dent and Carolyn Smrth Secretary Treasurer For gurdance we looked to Mr Bryant Mrss Schlagenhauf Mr Con rad and Mr Smrth We organlzed commlt tees for the scrap dr1ve and the selllng of SENIOR CLASS Left to rrqlxt Bay Hauser V1 e presrdent Mary lllen Hexse Sec retary treasurer Ber Arn ld Preszdent defense stamps and bonds We drd well 1n both Last year 83 JUUIOTS reglstered for therr thxrd year The decrease 1n students was more notrceable due to the war RlC11CIfd were elected Presldent Vlce pre sldent and Secretary Treasurer Our advrsors were Mrs Whrtler Mlsses Starck Walser and Enderll Mr Koertge and Mr Conrad Three of the boys were good enough to play on the Var S11Y basketball team ln all of the other ac 11V1fl9S the Junlors were promment The Jun 1or class play was a huge success As senlors we chose Bert Arnold Pres1dent Bay Hauser Vlce presfdent Mary Ellen 1-lelse Secretary Treasurer For cur advrsors We chose Mrss Kasten and Mlss Rapp Mr Flemlng Mr Brock and Mr Sanders Up to the txme that th1s was wrltten three of the semor boys have left for the servlce They were Brchard Murphy Terrence Buz rck and Eugene Fogle As we bld a fond farewell to the old L C H S we regret that we cannot spend four more years here -,q?J3'??3 .,.
