' I .Xp vcff?'f5lll!x The Litchfield Community High School Band started the school year off a better band due to individual interest and the summer concerts. The band immediately started work on the public con- cert which was given on December 10. This concert netted one hundred dollars to help pay for uniforms. The band joined in a few combined band con- certs with neighboring schools, and then started work on the concert for County Teachers' Insti- tute which was held on March 2-4. The Macoupin County Festival was the big event of the year so far as the members of the band were Concerned. This festival was held on May 2, with school bands from the surrounding territory participating in it. During the early part of the school year, the members of the band enjoyed the privilege of at- tending a concert given by the St. Louis Sym- phony Orchestra. Early in January. the band adopted an informal uniform of white jerseys with the band letters on them to wear to basketball games. Sixteen
