Mis os os CLASS HISTORY In 1929, there assembled 14 bashful little pupils in the first grade. Of course everything seemed strange at first but we soon learned that when our teacher, Miss Helen Smith, blew the wistle, we had to leave our play and begin study again. Of the fourteen, six have always gone to this sc hool: Ruth Petersen, Court Musser Jr., Max Barth, Eleanor Browand, Evellyn Everiss, and Dorothy Rising. Janice Hines and Carol Erb started with us but they left during the third grade and Susie Dangelo left during the fourth grade. Miss Laury and Miss Huston were our teachers during those two years. Soon we were under Miss Robinson and we began to think-- Only six more years. The seventh year found us with our former member, Janice Hines. Now we had no recess un- less we changed classes on the wrong bell. We seemed to have taken our eighth grade graduation as seriously as the seniors did that year, but I'm sure we were cager to see just what real high school procedure was like. But what's this! Did Susie and Carol also remember us? Anyway, Susie came back in the ninth grade and Carol in the tenth. The boys of our class soon took part in high school athletics. Prehaps John Steiner realized that the girls far outnumbered the boys TOorsne joined us in the Junior Class. But he did not balance the situation, for he brought his twin sister, Dawn, with him. Now we come to the individual history which sncludes incidents which have been quite ob- vious during the past. Johnny Steiner is noted for his mouth organ and guitar playing and he could represent our class in being the musical entertainer. Court, outstanding because of his wavy blonde hair, is our athlete: Max Barth, being famous for the steers he raises has the farming ability; Ruth Petersen and Janice Hines are our model housewives or home economics ¢x- ponents; Dawn represents our class as one who soars to unknown heights and is our happy-go- lucky member; Evellyn and Dorothy are the young- =A Suess

Dorothy might be found in the local church or school as a sec- retary, and Evellyn and Susie could aptly rep- resent our class as artists; Eleanor has the heighth of the class and is the true business type; and last but not least is Carol, who is more reserved and dignified than the rest of us. It would not be at all surprising if a little town would be the result of this class. And now shall we leave our heights of fun and prepare for the future, Some will not dive, as off a high spring board, but they will enter tin- to further school work first. So may some of us, either by the experience of the past or that which ts awaiting us, create renown and let the world realize that there still can be some deeds of kindness done, or something new made, Dorothy Rising Historian PLANTAPZON PARBY FORTPHE-OLASS OF. 1042, Ten years from this day, May 29, 1941, I pro- phesy the following: I find myself the owner of a large Virginia plantation. My wife and I decided to invite the class of 1941 of Litchfield High School, to a weekend Plantation Party. It wasn't hard to find the addresses of my classmates for they had made headlines in every part of the United Stetes, and most of them had kept in contact with each other. The first to arrive was Eleanor Browand. She was accompanied by a tall, grim-faced young man, whom she introduced as Dean Hornpeck, He com- mented to me several times on what a fine secre- tary Eleanor was, and what a good future wife she would be, a The next to arrive was Susan Dangelo with a tall and handsome man whanshe introduced as Larry Powers, the famous dancer of Stage and Screen, But I think that Susie was just keeping him around as a «sideline, wecause her real occupation was that of a school teacher in a famous New York Col- lege. She still hadn't outgrown her love for dancing.
