Chapterl - Freshmen As happy-go-lucky Freshmen, fifty in number, we invaded the halls of Lisbon High in September, 1950, under the supervision of Mr. Rishel and Mr. Betts as our homeroom teachers. We were very happy to hear that Mr. Betts was to be married in December. Girls are made of sugar and spice and every- thing nice, what fun it was to see what frogs were made of. Mr. and Mrs. Betts and Mr, and Mrs. Rishel accompanied us to Gettys- burg on our clam trip. Chapter II - Sophomores We came back from our summer vacation with a new sense of purpose, as Sophomores, We whole-heartedly plunged ourselves into the Magazine Campaign and emerged as the highest selling homeroom in the school, The Sophomore Class was invited to go on a county wide Conservation Tour which was enjoyable. We sponsored a square dance in order to raise funds for the Farewell Party we gave the Seniors. Chapter III - Juniors As we returned for our Junior year, our thoughts were on many things, mainly, se- curing our Senior Class rings and presenting a play in order to raise money for our Senior Yearbook. We were again the highest selling homeroom in the magazine campaign, with Shirley Lewis winning the individual sales- manship honor. We sponsored a Halloween dance which was very successful and at which everyone had a good time. For our class trip we visited many famous places in Wash- ington, such as the F.B.I. Building and the Capitol, Near the close of our Junior year our interests centered mainly on the Prom we gave the Seniors. Everyone agreed after- wards that it was one of the best proms ever given at Lisbon, lengthy but it is important we spent at Lisbon as the Chapter IV - Seniors We returned to the familiar halls of Lis- bon for our Senior year with a renewed de- sire to excel in all activities that we par- ticipated in.. Once again we were the high- est homeroom in t.he magazine campaign, with Paul Ridgley winning individual high salesmanship honors this year. We were happy to have Mr. Betts as our homeroom teacher for the fourth consecutive year. We started our record dances and bake sales in the latter part of September and, with the exception of basketball season, con- tinued them throughout the year. We also gave a barn dance and Christmas dance which were moderately successful. We ordered our name cards and announcements, and had our Senior Yearbook pictures taken early in the year to avoid a rush at the last minute. Since we had such a large class we decided that the best way to edit our Yearbook would be to elect several small committees which would represent the class. Our class was invited to the U. of M. for a luncheon and to see the football game between Maryland and Washington and Lee, which we enjoyed very much. We had many laughs from our play, DESPERATE AMBROSE. Our many and sincere thanks to our directors, Mr. and Mrs. Betts, who worked diligently to make it a success. The Junior-Senior Prom was far beyond our ex- pectations. Class Night and Baccalaureate passed swiftly. At last, Graduation, that long anticipated time when we would receive our diplomas, The world will little note nor long re- member what we have written here. Few will even read it. , A: C L :vi Huw, Mr. and Miss L.H.S.
