Bob Farris Dean of Students Bob Farris is responsible, under the delegation of the Vice President and President, for the health, welfare, and overall development of all students. He works with clubs, ASA, different groups and organizations on planning, and housing. He also works with all extra-curricular and co-curricular activities on campus. Sarah (Gamble Associate Dean of Students Sarah Gamble. works with the ASA Senate and the housing on campus. She hires the Head Residents who are trained on an RA training program. Dean Gamble also handles discipline and acts as a counselor, as well as supervising homecoming activities, Singarama, retreats, orientation, and working with lectureships. Student Personnel Office Secretaries The Student Personnel Office is responsible for the campus calendar, chapel attendance, counseling, extra- curricular activities, health services, housing and residence hall life, and security. Director of Housing Services Sherry Phillips is in charge of reservations, placements, and billing. Director of Chapel Office Betty Hunt keeps chapel attendance records, and Mary Proctor is Secretary in the Student Personnel Office. 29

Serving as Registrar and Associate Dean, Ralph Bryant is in charge of class schedules and registration. He obtains student records, dispensing and protecting them. He collects student information, such as grade reports, any school records, and transcripts. Jim Thomas Jim Thomas is the Director of Student Retention and Assistant Registrar. He oversees the development of testing programs for course placement and remedial programs and the development of the Early Warning System to target students likely to have difficulty in academic performance. He also maintains liaison with the admissions office. eee Registrar's pecretaries The Registrar’s Office handles all students’ grade reports. Changing or dropping a course is done here, as well as withdraw ing from school. Secretaries are there to provide students the needed assistance. 30 ie er a re | Business Ottice The Business Office is responsible for all monetary transactions for the entire institution. The office keeps track of student accounts and provides a check- cashing service for students. The Supervisor of the Business Office and the Business Manager is Larry Cochran. Staff Members are (seated) Ruth Williams, who also serves as secretary to Vice President Goodpasture; Larry Cochran, (back row) Suzy Templeton, Emma Brown, Jackie Howard, Rebel Gamble, and Gloria Beasley. Financial Aid Office Approximately 70% of our students receive financial aid through loans, grants and or scholarships, which are handled in the Financial Aid Office under the direction of Shirley Slatton. The office is also responsible for coordinating on-campus student work. Financial aid workers are Betty Davis, secretary; Shirley Slatton, Director of Financial Aid; and Fran Avers, secretary. Admissions Office The Admissions Office projects Lipscomb to high school students and other possible recruits. Secretaries are (front row) Betty Northcutt, Mary Hargis, Margie Roeder, (back row) Kathie O’Dell, Jewell Newton, and Jane Hardy, Office Manager.
