es, David Lipscomb College is build- ing a future. With the beginning of the “Golden Decade”’ came the start of a multi- million dollar building program. Students began witnessing the changes in the spring of 1982. Work on the new women’s dormi- tory began then. During the summer of 1982, the school purchased and installed its own computer. The terminal room was also ex- panded to house twenty-five terminals and two new computer majors were offered. The fall of 1982 saw the completion of a new parking lot and a new sign marking the Bel- mont Boulevard entrance. Work on the Axel Swang Business Center also began in the early fall. Even though this new construction will play a vital function in the future, one cannot overlook the present structures, faculty, administration, and students. They are the college, they preserve its life and continue its long tradition of excellence. The students are taught by distinguished, experienced, and loving Christians—men and women who are leaders in their fields. Students are in turn trained to be leaders in their fields. They learn from classroom lectures, yet they also learn by Christian example. Yes, futures are being built at David Lips- comb College. The institution is growing, expanding and looking toward its future needs. However, the most important devel- opment is seen in the students. They are growing mentally, physically, and spiritually to become builders in their careers and in the Lord’s church. 4—Theme
