They wanted to tie the knot, but the Fin- kles were a crazy conglomerate of middle-class nuts and did not mea- sure up to the autocratic expecta- tions of the Astorbilts. Love con- quered all, though, in this clash of class when Howie, the wizard of wedding creations, brought the fam- ilies together and saw the wedding through, for better or for worse.
