BIBLE DEPARTMENT The Bible Department has been enriched this year with the additions of Dr. Tom Holland and Mr. Lucien Palmer. Dr. Holland heads the new William Anderson Preacher Training Center located in remodeled Cockrill House. Mr. Palmer is working with the Missionary in Residence Program for a year. Other members of the Bible faculty along with Dr. Batsell B. Baxter, chairman of the department, continue to effectively pF teach daily Bible courses. 22 L to R: Mrs. Joyce S. McMillion, Mr. John C. Hutcheson. The Art Department at DLC has been quite busy this year. Several improvements and changes have taken place. Perhaps the most significant improvement is the addition to the faculty. Joyce McMillion has come to Lipscomb from Partalis, New Mexico. Mrs. McMillion received her BA degree from Abi- lene Christian University and her MA degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has made several improve- ments in the pottery and ceramics program. Rudy Sanders, absent for some time due to illness, returned for the winter quarter. His work in photography has enriched the department a great deal. John Hutcheson, chairman of the department, continues to be very busy and active, not only with departmental affairs, but also with many other campus activities such as Homecom- ing, the BACKLOG, and campus beautification. 24 BIOLOGY DEPARTMENT Biology at Lipscomb involves the biological world of which we are a part. Department activities include trips to the Smokey Mountains, Tech-Aqua Biological Sta- tion, Radnor Lake Observatory, the Children’s Museum, and natural areas. The American Institute of Biological Sciences (student biological society) conducts meetings and special seminars as well as emphasizing careers in the field of biology.
