E PURPOSE to which David Lipscomb College is dedicatd is “to give Bible teaching its true importance in education; to train children to be better, truer Christians. . . All alike need the Bible teaching; need to appreciate religion above all else, and to carry the teachings of the Bible into their lives, whatever they do and wherever they go.” These words of David Lipscomb establish this school as a Bible School. This is a fact that has been upheld by its leaders since its beginning sixty years ago and that we are proud to uphold now. Many things have changed during this time and much progress has been made in a material way, but this original mission of the in- stitution has remained constant in the hearts of its trustees, its administrators, its faculty, and its students. The aim of this, the 1951 Back oa, is to record the activities of the sixtieth session of the school. The contrast between the old and the new is intended to keep alive the fact that although Lipscomb may grow, improve, and expand, its purpose remains the same. May it ever be so. THE EDITOR.

DEDICATION This book is affectionately and humbly dedicated to one whose life and character could well serve as a model to any student. Love and appreciation for him grow with length of acquaintance. His life is sincerely devoted to the service of God. His love for the stu- dents is untiring, unselfish, and understanding. His tasks are without end and often with- out praise, but he does them faithfully for the benefit of the school and the glory of God. We believe that he exemplifies the true spirit of Lipscomb and so we dedicate this, the 1951 Backtoa, to Vice-President WILLARD COLLINS.
