CC 99 nd Show Business This year Linwood put on a Christmas opera, AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS, by Gian- Carlo Menotti. It was directed by Miss Homer. The lead parts were played by Craig Minor fAmahlj, Melissa Bennett and Deborah Biondo fAmahl's mothery, Dennis Genito QKing Kasparj, Robert Mui-phyfKing Melchiorj, Richard Rivera fKing Balthazar Q, and Teresa Mariano QThe Page J. The chorus consisted of Ann Marie Arico, Angela Beni- caso, Angela Bruno, Barbara Dudash, Gregory Ewald, Debra Fabiyan, Heather Keyes, Patty Maloney, Steven Pincus, Carol Ronk, Penny Schipmann, Nicholas Smirlis, Edward Smith, james Smith, Kenneth Smith, Rene Stricker, and Peggy Teachen. Sheri Best, Mary Hess, Wendy Leavitt, Barbara Osterburg, Karen Ryer, and Pam Sesee were the dancers. The accompanists were Christo- pher Andreadis and Barbara Krauss, and the flutist was .Kathy Krauss. As we go to press the spring musical, OKLAHOMA! by Rodgers and Hammerstein, is just going into preparation. The lead characters are Eric Appel fCu.rlyJ, Bonnie Babcock fLaureyj, Robert Murphy fWill Parkerj, Teresa Mariano fAdo Annie j, Melissa Bennett QAunt Ellerj, Richard Rivera Uud Fry J, Dennis Genito QAl Hakimj, Heather Keyes fGertieJ, and Gregory Ewald fAndrew Carnesj. Miss Homer will direct the music and Mr. Zorn is sewing as general production manager.

nn-.. Music The BAND meets regularly each Week dur- ing the eighth period and is part of our acitivity program. Special practices are held before performances. The Band plays at special functions during the year, such as graduation and special assemblies, and presents a recital each Spring. It is under the direction of Mrs. Rao. 'a N55 BJ. F if :ex The GIRLS' CHORUS is divided into two parm fthe seventh and eighth grade girls' chorus and the ninth grade girls' chorusj this year because of its size. It rehearses under the direction of Miss Homer. This chorus entertains at school activities. The ENSEMIBLE, also directed by Miss Homer, consists of a select group of girls and boys, who participate in school programs and have the opporttmity to sing with a mixed group. 42
