1981 KU BAND DAY On Saturday, September 26, 1981, the Linwood High School Band was one of approximately 70 Kansas and Missouri bands who participated in the annual University of Kansas Band Day. The bands marched through the streets of downtown Lawrence that morning and were KU's guests that afternoon at the KU-Kentucky football game at Memorial Stadium. During halftime the Marching Jayhawks of KU led the visiting bands in a spectacular half-time show.
