Coach Przybylo's nine showed a league slaTe of seven wins and only one loss. The overall record was Ten wins and Two losses. The lone loss oT The non-league braclceT came aT The hands OT 5coTia in a 6 To 3 duel. LinTon avenged The loss To ScoTia by whipping Them I5 To O. The Team, which was composed primarily of seniors. had a very successTul season alThough They played wiThouT The services oT STeve Bucheim because of an injury he had received. STeve was The previous year's TinesT piTcher posTing a record oT 5-0. Coach Przybylo had counTed heavily on him Tor This season. The season was highlighTed BASEBALL-I959 by greaT Team and individual eTTorTs. The Team high spoTs were a 6-O vicTory over arch-rival MonT PleasanT, a IO-I win over Troy, a I3-O win over AmsTerdam, and I5-O and 2I-6 vicTories over ScoTia and Draper. The individual peak OT The year came in The Albany game when LinTon posTed iTs second Triple play of The school hisTory. This Tabulous TeaT was accomplished by a ground ball hiT To Barbieri who Then Threw To ColTer and in Turn Threw To Connors. Besides showing a Tine season, The Blue- Devil mound corps esTablished a new sTrilce-ouT record. The player who perTormed This was Billy Connors wiTh 68 sTrilce- ouTs. The baTTer who led The Team in hiTTing was Jim Barbieri wiTh a .422 baTTing average. l-le was Tollowed by Billy Connors and MarTy Dwore wiTh .4OO each.
