An individual student's life at Linfield is a short period of time, but time if filled with qualities that will endure in the life of every student. Linfield life is embodied in a spirit, a Wildcat Spirit, which permeates the life of every student. This Wildcat Spirit is shown in all areas of life on the campus. The Academic life is of major importance and our reason for being at an institution of higher learning. Sports play an extra- curricular role in the life of students. Social life is a result of an inborn desire for human companionship. Traditions are a part of Linfield, and Linfield is made of traditions. Religion is a part of every individual whether he is aware of it or not. At Linfield a student has the opportunity to become aware of his inner self and religion in his life. This total Wildcat Spirit was vividly exemplified in the campus reactions to the Columbus Day Storm of 1962. :-- ' M X ..,.. ' -Qi iiiii .,,, N- L- s 1 ' . sy S . ... Hcwilclcat Spirit

DILLIN-professor, business manager, president, friend - who this year marks his Twentieth year as Linfield's president. Dr. Dillin is known as a builder. Under his leadership all campus buildings have been built or completely remodeled. The new Dillin Hall was named in his honor. This magnificent struc- ture 'of modern architecture is an outstanding tribute to his leader- ship and never-ending work at Linfield. But Dr. Dillin builds more than buildings. Forget not his friendship to students and faculty, his pleasant personality and warm smile, his contributions to academic life and to the welfare of all on campus. We respect and look up to him. ln May 1943, Dr. Dillin became the 17th President of Linfield College. In this, his twentieth year in this office, we pay tribute to him by the dedication of the 1963 Oak Leaves to our friend, teacher, and president, Dr. Harry L. Dillin. 4 t
