Class History Nineteen hundred and forty-six was a big year for the whole world. We were now recovering from the effects of World War II. For a number of us this year held special significance. In 1946, this class went to the first grade of school. Six years later this group entered junior High in the old building. This was a time of great change for this group, now tripled in size and meeting for the first time. On September 5, 1954, we started classes in a big, beautiful, new school. Another change, and this too was decidedly for the better. We really appreciated this new school and the wonderful new opportunities it opened for us. The next big year for us was 1955. We sponsored a very successful Harvest Hop, selected our class rings, and were well on our way toward the Iunior-Senior Prom. The junior-Senior Prom topped the list this year. Our junior Play, No Boys Allowed, was also successful. This year we chose a junior editor for the yearbook, someone capable of assuming full responsibility the following year. We chose Sophie Urbanick for this most important job. Then, at last we were Seniors. This year we broke with tradition and decided to trek to New York City. In the beginning of the year, we were faced with two major goals: our Senior trip and graduation. In order to raise the funds necessary for this journey, we had to plan ahead for a year of hard work. The first major project was the Senior Play. We presented The Family Nobody Wanted, which was highly successful. The second outstanding event was a Wes Hopkins Record Dance, which was probably the most successful dance ever sponsored at Linesville High School. In addition, record dances were held, Christmas cards, magazines, and yearbooks were sold. The final goal was achieved with the guidance of the senior advisors, Mrs. Egan and Mr. Holland. Because of their help, we shall obtain the goal set for us by our class motto, Climb high, climb far, your goal the sky, your aim a star.
