A. l,2,3,4 Class History In September, 1944, three groups of unsuspecting children walked up the steps of Linesville , Graham, and Harmonsburg schools , not knowing what lay ahead of them. Six years later, with a better understanding of what was expected of them they entered their first year in Iunior High and met, as a class, for the first time. As Freshmen theylentered the shabby, but steadfast doors of Linesville High School for the last year in that building. Studies were interspersed with money raising pro- jects, movies, bake sales, and skating parties. The fall of 1954 was excitingly different as the group sponsored the Harvest Hop, the first big dance in our new school. Miss Pringle, Mr. Welsh, and Mr. Fargo met the group as advisors during the Junior year. A play Stranger In The Night , was presented and provided entertainment for the community. With the help of our advisors we accomplished the big, but beautiful, task of presenting the junior-Senior Prom. With only 60 of our original group, we began our exciting Senior year in the fall of '56, Everyone became quite excited learning that we would go to Washington if we could raise enough money. So with a very flat bankroll we got down to business to prove we could do it if we wanted. Our Senior play, We Shook The Fam.ily Tree , was one of the most successful plays ever presented and made us quite proud. Along with the play, Christmas cards, taffy, bake sales, movies , and the yearbook, we began to really plan for our trip and our last days as a class together. After returning from Washington May 23, we began to prepare for Baccalaureate and Commencement with regret and, yet, with anticipation. . The Iunior Class , as does every Iunior Class, has an ultimate goal to attain by the merry month of May--the Iunior-Senior Prom. To attain this goal, we have been working very hard and will continue to do so under the able guidance of our class advisors , Miss Pringle and Mr. Poux. We sponsored various activities during the first semester including a bake sale, movie, skating partyy and a new idea, selling L.C.S. crew hats and beanies. All of these events were successful as a result of the class co-operation. In the future, we will continue to sponsor class activities , among which will be an Easter-egg hunt, an activity which has heretofore not been attempted in this school. Other future activities will include selling cards, another bake sale, a skating party: and, of course, the Iunior Class Play. We hope that by these activities we shall have attained our goal for this year and, in addition, have a considerable balance in our financial account to carry over into our Senior year. With the help of our advisors, Mr. Krantz and Mr. Keefer, we accomplished our first big event of the year, The Harvest Hop. There was a committee elected to investigate money-making projects. At their suggestions , We held a dance after one of the basket- ball games, and we made a good profit by selling gas and oil at the Corner Service Center Station. Although athletics are high on our list of accomplishments , our class is well repre- sented in almost every school activity. larpl Freshmen ROW 1: F. Fink, B. Thompson, C. Iamison, I. Young, K. Nearly ninety students from Graham, Summit, and Linesville Elementary Schools grew up fast as they entered Junior-High School in September . There was so much that was new to learn and dog and, of course, those schedules to copy and try to remember. The Home Room teachers are: 7A, Mrs. Hollisterp 7B, Mrs. Curryp and 7C, Mrs. Van Bockern. We plan to have a contest to see which room can have their dues all paid, first. That room will be treated to a party in the cafeteria by the other two rooms. Plans were made for the mock U. N. Assembly to be held in Harrisburg in March. Ianet Anderson and Prannie Ewing will represent Linesville at this event. ln order to raise money to keep our club operating, we have planned several money- making projects, some of which are as follows: bake sales, dances, selling various small items , and others to be carried out in the spring.
