Although w e were a bit Y'shaky that first day we soon became quite confident under the wonderful guidance of Mz's. Schaffer. The thirteen tTl8 t started school that year were: Marylyn Starr, Margaret Wigton, Doris Sanderson, Sandra Bollard, Judith Tate, David Shelatz, Patricia Parks, Evelyn Far- ley, Mary E. Weir, Wm. Van Duesan, Paul Currie, Ronald Collins, amd lm. Dunseath. For six years, though,we gained andlostsome classmates, we loolc- ed forward to meeting all ttmos e we would be spending the rest of our high school days with, because next year we were going to be in Junior High School! Well, here we were all.f1fty-seven of us! This was certainly a big change from g1rade school, home room teachers, changing classes, electing officers--my were we getting businesslike. Two years passed quickly and now we were the big wigs' of Junior High, Freshmen! This year we elected officers carefully because we knew there was a big job to do, they were: President, Joe Jackman 3 Vice-Presicient, Ray Guineyg Secretary, Genny Campbell, Treasurer, Evelyn Farley. Our float this year 'Help the Boys in Korea', even though it had a wonder- ful motto, won only third prize. We won first prize selling nbooster' tags mathis gave our treasury a start. We had a party at the close of the year. It doesn't seem possible, but we're in Senior High now, under the supervision of Mrs.Chisholm axxd lr. Lance. Our officers this year were: President, Steve Urbanickg Vice-President, Margaret Wigton, Sec- retary, Genny Campbellg Treasurer, Mary E. Weir. There were only forty-two of us nowbut we worked together and sponsored a beautiful Harvest Hop, the annual autumn dance. T218 king and queen were Evelyn Farley and Larry Lowing. They received surprise gifts. We had some successful bake sales wkzich. helped our treasury con- siderably. During our second year of high school our advisors were Mrs. Van- Bockern andlks Friend. We had a serious responsibility this year, that was to give the seniors their banquet prom. In order to do this we had to earn some moneyn The first semester we had oznr float Cwhich won first prizel nOil, Pennsylvan1a's gift to the worldn, bake sales, and sold pins. The second semester we had charge of the candy machines 1 n the hall andpxt cn our class play. Our Play, i-Iobgoblin House direct- ed by Mr. Friend and Hrs. Van Bockern was a hugh success. It was the first mystery comedy to be presented at Linesville for many years. All during the basketball season we had a refreshment conoemion at the gym, We had our prom on the 15th of May at Schuster's Rmnaurang Green- ville, Pennsylvania. ltwas a beautiful dance and banquet, sof cours e it left our budget rather on the lean side to start our senior yearbut w e also found we were capable of raising money. At the beginning of our Senior yeaJ'th1ngs were different from what we were used to. We were in one home room and Hr. Merry was our only advisor. lestarted dfwith a bang, first we sold L.C.S. BW6QtBI'8, Christmas cards, and pins. We gave our Senior Play Grandad Steps Out on November ll. I t was the biggest success any class has ever had. There are forty-five of us now, all planr11x1g a Washington trip, all looking forward to the Junior Senior prom, to Class night, Baccal- urate and Commencement. The door to success is labeled npushn. Will all of us follow the directions? We have the largest number'of students on the honor roll which displays that our class is above average in intellectual power. Our boys are athletes and we take pride in saying that we have six boys playing basketball. Three cheer- leaders and two majorettes represent our class. Sports are not our on- ly interest. We all have an ear for music with fourteen participating in the chorus and ten in the band. Many take part in other worthwhile activities. So you see we are represented in every organization. With such a good group of leaders and with the helping hands of Mr. Kling- ensmith, Mr. Lance, and Mr. McGeever, our homeroom teachers, we had a very successful Harvest Hop, and have continued to have a prosperous time all year.
