The lormalion, led by Miss Nyslrom, consisled ol Carol Bloom, Ronnie Chellquisl, Gene Fryxell, Mark Halermann, Diane Halermann, Bernice Hall, Richard Hill, Marilyn Larson, Irene Lindslrom, Lois Medin, Lowell Medi-n, Janel Nelson, Lee Nelson, Roberl Olson, Zelda Pelerson, Jerry Pugh, Vincenl Reed, Rulh Slellend, Joyce Swenson, and Jeanelle Johnson wilh Janel Swenson halching al lillle lale. By Seplember ol l94O, we had compleled lhe lirsl lap ol lhe journey and de- cided we needed some reinlorcemenls, so aller losing Diane Halermann, Zelda Pel- erson, Joyce Swenson, Jeanelle Johnson and our able leader in a down drall, we wel- comed a large delegalion namely: Marcia Hokanson, James Jackson, Eunice Marlin- son, May Nelson, La Vonna Olson, Janel Sandeen, Allen Croone, Carolyn Johnson, Vernon Rylander, Dwighl Erickson and Lawrence Foss. Miss Jaskerie became our wind-breaker. In l94l, wilh lhe cooperalion ol lhe wealher and under lhe leadership ol Miss Gullickson, we added Zelda Pelerson, Floyd Johnson, Donald Lindgren, Viola Mayo, Joyce Swenson, Donald Swenson, Coralee Bushman, Beverly Hillslrom and Palsy And- erson lo our llock. Due lo a plague we losl Dwighl Erickson, Lawrence Foss, Janel Nel- son and Roberl Olson. ln lhe year ol l942 a big wesl wind blew lrom our presence Carol Bloom, Viola Mayo, Richard Hill, Eugene and Richard Slrickland, Belly Preisler and Donald Swen- son leaving behind Roger Johnson, Mavis Miller, Joyce Pelerson, Garry Johnson, Sue Andrews and Ruby Ballanz. While slopping lor repairs Jerry Pugh, Beverly Hillslrom, Sue Andrews and Coralee Bushman decided lo slay on ground lor awhile. Aller resling lor lhree monlhs we began our lillh llighl led by our enlhusias- lic leader, Miss Sleen. Jusl as we began our llighl we collided wilh anolher llock and aller checking roll we lound lhal we gained Belly Preisler, Sue Andrews, John Hasl- ings, Devon Jackson and Eleanor Anderson bul had losl James Jackson, Janel Sandeen, Rulh Slellend and Floyd and Roger Johnson. Aller a lew monlhs ol llying Belly Preisler, Sue Andrews and John Haslings dropped oul due lo lhe crippling ellecls ol lhe collision. Wilh lhe hallway mark in sighl, we were joined by Sue Andrews, Roger Nel- son, Richard Clossum, Curlis Erickson, Marjorie Noreen, Wilbur Bloom, Joan and Ro- berl Nelson, who had lhe same goal in mind. Because ol hazardous llying condilions we losl nol only Richard Clossum, Joyce Swenson, Mavis Miller, and Marcia Hokan- son bul also Miss Springer, while Miss Twilo became our new leader. Under lhe shellering wings ol-Miss Borgen, our lillle llock began a new lor- malion wilh Belly Preisler, Joyce Swenson, Margarel Erickson, Melvin Nicklason, Helen Erickson, Roberl McKeavan and Rulh Glaze. Because ol open season on geese: lhroughoul lhe year we losl Helen Monson, Joyce Pelerson, Wilbur Bloom, Marjorie Noreen, Roberl McKeawan and Rulh Glaze. Lois and Lowell Medin were wounded bul managed lo recover and relurned near lhe middle ol lhe llighl. S Miss Borgen relained lhe posilion as leader ol lhese Roughriders . Palsy Anderson, Helen and Curlis Erickson and Gene Fryxell wenl Soulh lor beller llying condilions. We snared some wild geese lagged Jimmy Ganske, John Weslman, Joe Zell, Donna Sandgren and Carol Pauley lhal were accepled inlo our lillle lamily. Al lasl we're enlering lhe home-slrelch. Our 9lh lormalion, led by Miss John- son, is somewhal scallered, bul lhose ol us who managed lo survive welcomed lhe green iniliales: Carol Bloom, Dudley Johnslon and Helen Rue who replaced Joan Nelson, Roberl Nelson and Jimmy Ganske, Increasing our speed during lhe lOlh lorm, commanded by Mr. Feske, we caughl up wilh anolher llock picking up Bill Gray and Phyliss Nick: bul as we llew by dropped Joyce Swenson, Ruby Ballanz, Donna Sandgren and Melvin Nicklason. 0140
