Members are taught to read shelves, to cover books, alpha- betize and file, and to shelve books. President is Theresa Hoaguei WCC President is Beth Saw- yer, Secretary is Trish Blackwell and Treasurer is Kim Taylor Strings The Lindsay Jr. High School Strings Orchestra is directed by Mrs. Linda G. Fineran. These stu- dents study string in- struments and learn to perform a wide variety of musical styles, and to de- velop a high caliber of musical ability. Aproxi- mately 30 students per- form in Ms. Fineran's classes, and perform in several concerts at school and in several elementary schools. Chorus Mrs. Velma J. Allison is the instructor for Chorus. She directs two choral groups: one is for the eighth and ninth grade students, the Advanced Chorus, The other choral group is composed of seventh grade students. Both groups perform in concert for the parents and students three times per year in con- cert: in addition, they perform with the band for the P.T.A. The chorus also will perform at the Coliseum Christmas Program in Dcceznber. In February, those students who success- fully win and audition will perform at Gloucester High School in the Regional Workshop Chorus. Planned later in the year are concerts at various elementary schools and area churches. A concert and variety show is planned for June.
