M., . r-is i Blue and Gold Day has been among the many traditions at Lindsay Jr. High since it opened in 1968. Students are encouraged to dress up in the school colors, and clubs are encouraged to build floats following the S.C.A.-developed theme, which this year was Favorite Holidays . The purpose of such a day is to develop and strengthen school spirit, as the day usually coincides with a football game. The Science Club Float, based on George Washington's Birth- day, was chosen the winner. In the photos on this page, above, Mr. Navickas supervises an assembly: at top right, Venus Blizzard was the winner of a band contest, and lower right, Ellen Beasley and Lorri Maloney prepares the yearbook float. 44 A Success House Of Terror On a dark and spooky night, in the depths of the Lindsay auditorium, there lurked evil in the hearts of faculty and students alike. A com- bined effort of the P.T.A. and the S.C.A., the House of Terror was a smashing success. There were the usual ghosts and spooks, corpses rising from the coffin, witches, hunchbacks and others 'Y' to give one a feeling of contrived horror. The date was October 26, just a few days before Halloweeng several hundred parents, students, teachers, and little folks came out to visit the spooky characters. A dramatic offering, Monster Mash, was also offered. 4x4 X AT TOP LEFT: Mrs. Livengood served as a guide. IN THE COFFIN AT TOP, Mr. Hanlon awaits a dainty offering served up by Mrs. Berry. Z di V ui FZHHZHPQOVZ SCA. gg Another of the S.C.A. activities is operating the school store, selling needed school supplies to students in the morning before first period begins. The students who operated the store this year are, from the left, Amy Smith, Gina Cooper and Paula Silver. The Student Cooperative Associ- ation, or S.C.A., as students know it, is the coordinating link between students and the faculty and administration. It serves to promote school spirit by organiz- ing pep rallies, dances and as- semblies. Mr. David Tylavsky serves as faculty sponsor. Of- ficers, shown at left, are, from left to right, Amy Smith, Treas- urer, Chuck Moody, Second Vice President, Karen King, President, Annette Alford, First Vice Presi- dent and Lisa Mikula, Secretary. - : s, t ' :g f X Q ' Q j ss 1- , K- ' . . . 1 Q T - 2.
