Some of the problems, such as those presented in the picture necessitate all forms of planning. Much of our life time had been spent day dreaming and looking forward to it, thinking of commencement as an end to the time when we would stop being school kids and become young men and women. But when Mr. Curry and Mrs. Hight began to measure us for our caps and gowns and we had to pose for our last picture together, we realized there was lots to be done, lots to remember, and very little time. Why be stuffy and sentimental about it, spoke up our class secre- tary, Beverly Hinkle, so Marshall Burkes, our president, and Catherine Cook, our vice-president, set Lois Duncan, treasurer, and Jonetta Miller, representative, to work roundingup equipment to measure our Seniors for their Gradu- ation Day Regalia. iw.. ootball-1, 2, 3, 45 Basket. ' 4 TAFF AT WORK-In the hectic days before the deadline, we find the staff at work drawing up pages writing and re Iriting copy, drawing up lads, collecting money, chasing photographers, neglecting school work, and eternally eating, sleep ig, and living the 'Leopard. After many hours of planning and proof reading, the 1952 edition of the Leopard is at last a reality. Everyone, including the staff, student body, administra- tion, and businessmen, has given abundantly of their slumber, sweat, and tears in order that the 1952 Leopard might be the best ever. Credit for the finished product belongs to the various staff members. Bobby Diggs, the assistant editor, and Mary Brown, the organization editor, have proved them- selves very capable in handling the problems that would have gone unsolved. The business manager, Phillip Riley, deserves much praise for the efficient way in which he managed the advertising campaign. He did an excellent job in working with the advertising managers, Dan Moody, Virginia Luton, and Bessie Merritt. Carol Hill was our life saver with her creative art ability. Out of the limelight but in the assembbly line were our indispensible typists, Jean Freeling and Jonetta Miller. Keeping up with athletic events and turning in scores all year, was the sports editor, Gary Smith. Catherine Cook, Bill Whitt, Jerry Blansett, Martha George, Betty Ramsey, and Donna Brown were very capable and did a fine job representing the various organizations in our school. The class representatives, Lois Jean Duncan, Beth Freeman, and Kay Hardy, put on a terrific sales cam- paign. They deserve credit for selling our Leopard and managing our Yearbook King and Queen contest. Without your guiding hand, Mrs. Loper, we would have stumbled and surely fallen. To those to whom we are indebted we say thinks for all the unselfish work they have done. To the 1953 Leopard Staff we leave all our wisdom and knowledge. May you profit through our errors. To the school we give the various aspects of our school life for the past nine months-The 1952 Leopard. --BEVERLY HINKLE, Editor. Leopard Staff if-HA Without the guidance and supervision of Mrs. Martin Loper, our sponsor, the Leopard would never have been a reality. Thank you for your cooperation and hard work. After giv- ing a few yells, we realized that much practice was going to be necessary before we would be con- sidered a Pep Club, much less the kind we wish to be. Say, girls, what will this delectable dish be? In Action! September, 1951, found 25 pledges striving throughout initiation week to become Future Home- makers of America bringing out total membership to 52. Fourteen, including Mrs. Audy Jones, Chapter Mother, and Miss Jean Dunlop, Advisor, represented Lindsay F. H. A. Chapter at the Sub-District leader- ship Conference in Pauls Valley. Lindsay Chapter was in charge of the training group emphasizing Making Initiations and Pledge Week More Purposefulf' Erma- lene Henry was elected secretary-treasurer for South- west Sub-District 2. In December, F. H. A. sponsored a Style Show, Twas the Night Before Christmas. The girls mod- eled winter fashions constructed in second and third year clothing classes. A caroling party was planned and Christmas cards were sold by the Chapter. Improving our Home Economics Department was selected for our local project. An F. H. A. bulletin board, laundry hamper, and wall plaques with pot lift- ers and hangers for them were added to complete our project. In spirit with the season, F. H. A. members en- tertained their parents and boy friends with a Valen- tine Party. What fun! Lindsay was well represented at the State Rally in Oklahoma City. Several members participated in a tableau in the afternoon program. Serving at the annual F. F. A. banquet completed our- year's activities. 1 Lenora Alexander and Catherine Cook must be trying to finish their garments so they can be worn this weekend.
