Graduation arrived with a laugh and a tear for the class of 1972. Four years ago as timid freshmen they entered high school, to help develop traditions, to learn, and to discover. Now posessed of many hows and whys, they leave a heritage of scholarship and spirit as they approach a greater adventure in learning. Underclassmen will trudge the corridors, and widen their outlook on the great panorama ofpeople, ideas, and things that make up their perspective of living, learning, and their moments ofyouth. 11

Football was where his chief in- terest lay, and he continually strove to make his school a better one. Coach Flattley's inspiring Uchalk talks during half-time spurred his teams to victory, but encouragements were also given to those who sought Mr. Flattley in need of his help and advice. His quiet friendship was avail- able to all. The yearbook staff would like to express its gratitude to Mr. Merle Flattley for the endless time and effort he has given to his students and school. We, who are now in our moments of youth, are proud to dedicate our 1972 Lindsay High School Comet to this man. Above: The C.S.L.
