PRINCIPAUS OFFICE Our principal, Mr. Thomas Cahraman, came to our district in April of last year and has kept this school in the best of order. Being a former Director of Activities he has helped and has given the school many new ideas to keep it hep. Aside from the social activities he was the administrative head of all the school functions. He was anxious to have our students excel scholastically and athleticolly. When disputes and problems arose, he was always ready to help in the best way possible. Miss Graves' many assistants learned throughout the year to perform the various duties and responsibilities of a secretary. The assistants of this year were Oleta Cantrell, Martha Mason, Ernestine Gomez, Teresia Gomel, Brenda Longpre, Linda Trafton, Sharon Ferguson, Janice Eastin, Karen Ferguson, Joyce Ross, Evelyn Krider and Marv Centeno. These girls throughout the day did many jobs which helped Miss Graves very much. Oleta Cantrell was in charge of the Daily Bulletin, and Evelyn Krider was in charge of the Absentee Bulletin. The other iobs were filing, typing, answering the telephone and running errands. The girls were very willing to help Miss Graves and were grateful for the advice she gave them on office procedures. Filing records, typing reports, help- ing office assistants, beating pupils: these were all a part of the strenu- ous iob Miss Graves had to do as secretary of Lindsay High School. We were very happy and grateful Miss Graves was with us. 45' . ,r. 5 We SCHOOLS' A 15:91 ' 'i 2 1 ' I 9l0 ll 35 If I7 21 gill N-Q ll :iii-lilii

He was responsible for the general efficiency of the school system, for the develop- ment of the teaching staff and for the growth and welfare of the pupils, He took charge of preparing the school budget so we had the necessary supplies for functioning properly. We appreciate all Mr. Castle has done for us. Heading the Board of Trustees was Mr. .lay Shropshire, far right. The clerk was Mrs. Lorraine Paul, and the other members were Mr. Burke Thompson, Mr. Richard Henderson and Mr. George Harold Waddell. These trustees had many duties and responsibilities which needed to be discussed and dealt with properly. Some of their responsibilities were to intepret the educational needs of the community, develop policies in accordance with the law, and keep the people intelligently informed of the purpose, value, conditions, and needs of public education within the community. These were but o few of their duties which needed to be performed throughout the year, and we know they did it willingly and properly. l A Q ,, l W T . 9 lr' ' . we
