Our world of today is a scene of unrest and uncertainty and the feeling is having its effect on us. We live from moment to moment thinking less and less of the ff. u ,n . I ' . f' future because we like to feel sure of ourselves, and our thoughts 5 f - ' i of the life ahead are unsure and unstable. We soon come to the l f time when the dividing line between the past and the future be- comes a slim piece called the present. We have pictured here your X 1 f lives for the past year so you may turn the pages and remember 'f those days when we were not troubled with big problems. , L Y f 4, ,fi f' J 4 it . 1- LU i Q Iliwblf ' Vl f Q e. ,, L C U ey, .Cf Doll 7 X jf Xfiyflyf sf Q v i W 4 zwff up ,L e i f V, .fv7,!,.5','5V,7 My . Every show must have its stars and we have been fortunate to have had our full shareg but every pra- ducer knows that it takes more than the stars to make the show go, so to all who have contributed their talent or skill, we say 'thanksfi To the Class ot l955, small but energetic, we pay a special tribute and extend to them best wishes for continued suc- cess through the years ahead. CLAYTON CASTLE Superintendent ad tel' 0 el'el1'l0llle5 Television is a wonderful invention. You can see and hear from long distances almost unheard of wonders of time and space. We call this a modern discovery. There is another television as old as man and it isn't limited by gadgets and lights. You can see it now and hear it too as you read these lines written just for you. l can see your face and I can hear your voice and l know you can see and hear mine, too. lt's just as real as the one in the store or your home and I can turn it off or on as l will. Now since this is true, l want you to know my TV set is turned so that whenever you read these lines I will hear and see you and, if you will listen, you will hear my prayers for your success and happiness as you live the years ahead, ZAFON A. The class worked very hard under its able officers, George Williams, president, Harold Waddell, vice- president, David Longacre, secretary-treasurer, and the class council. Cake sales and many other enterprises helped the Sophomores earn money to keep for next year and to donate to worthy causes like the Red Cross. Still the largest class in school, the Sophomores are going to keep their goals high. Always willing to work and full of school spirit, the class of '57 strives to be one ol the best classes to come out of Lindsay High School. w one M Fel 1 V Gent y M Flores J Berg I Borbon A Gray R Montanez E Barrett, C, Lamb. We hope in later years that you find this book not only accurate and en- lightening, but filled with many happy memories of this school year. Special thanks go to Miss Williams for her wonderful help and advice. Miss Williams seemed always there when we needed her to boost us over the rough spots. The literary staff carried out its part in the book wonderfully as did the art staff in composing the paper sculptures for the division pages. A complete sellout was the result of the hardworking business staff and the photographers did a terrific iob all year long. Also, we would like to thank the typists for their excellent and well timed work. The Comet staff has worked all year to give you a book you would enjoy. Now, we are happy to present the T955 Comet and hope you will treasure it for a long time to come. INOLA MORRIS CLARK JACKSON Co-editors Mr. Clair Thomas was our friend indeed and did a wonderful rob on our senior and group pictures as well as rescuerng us from many other photographic difficulties.
