I DUSTRIAL ART CLUB The Industrial Arts Club of Lindley Jr. High School was organized to help stress the importance of ac- quiring the knowledge and learning the skills of working with one's hands and working with many different types of machinery. The world is ad- vancing, and with this advancing come the neces- sity of knowing how to build, and repair machin- ery. This, to many people, is a way to make a living. There are many skilled jobs in the field of industrial management. The Industrial Arts Club was organized from a fine department in om' school, and we hope it will continue to be a fast growing club. HI-2' Last year the boys of the Hi-Y at Lindley voted for the name Beta Chi junior Hi-Y. Mr. Siler, no longer at Lindley started from scratch to form the club. The Hi-Y had a softball team and won all of their games. The games were played against other clubs. This year Mr. Sheppard and Mr. Connor have done an excellent job with the Hi-Y. The members of the Hi-Y and Mr. Connor, and Mr. Sheppard are doing all they can to make the Hi-Y a great organization for the future students of Lindley. A scrapbook has been kept by the club secretary along with the min- utes of each meeting. The Beta Chi Hi-Y is affiliated with the YMCA of Marietta. Someone may ask these questions: What does a person achieve by being a member of the Hi-Y or the YMCA? Isn't the Hi-Y all work and no play? Most of the members of the Hi-Y would tell you that what they achieve is a feel- ing, a feeling that they have helped others .
