The Student Council lets pupils exercise the right of participating in the governing of the fellow stu- dents by placing decision-making practices as to codes of ethical behavior as much in the hands of the students as is feasibly pos- sible. The Student Council sponsors many activities such as the Christmas Dance, Slave Day , and other such activities, both social and governmental, as it is necessary and desirable for the continuing of the councils role in the life of the school. La Vz'a'a en Espana . . . The purpose of the Spanish Club is to give students a better background concerning the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries. We have invited an exchange student, who is attending Pebblebrook, to speak to us concerning her way of life in Paraguay. Plans are being made to attend Los Bailes Espanoles , a variety show con- sisting of Spanish guitar music, singing and dancing. Movies of the cities in Spain will be shown in February. Various students will be giving talks to the club members on rele- vant topics studied out of class. The club plans to have a recognition day in May to celebrate Pan American Day, a fiesta day in many Spanish-speaking countries.
