PHYSICAL ED UCA TION - Coach Cuddy has helped in our Physical Fitness Plan for two years. He is known as a very cheerful person by all the students he teaches. We think that he is a splendid teacher. 30 The physical education department is one of the most important de- partments of our school. Although not taken by every student in the school, it is taken as an elective by much of the student body. Coaches Cuddy, Turk, and McCord instruct the boys, while Miss Lind- sey and Mrs. Cole instruct the girls. Physical education is very important. If a person is not phy- sically fit, he is not capable of doing his best mentally or socially. During the physical education class, the boys do such things as push-ups jumping-jacks, and leg-lifts. Dur- the summer the boys compete among themselves in outdoor sports, such as softball and football. Dur- ing the winter, they do exercises in the gym and play basketball, and wrestle. In the summer months, the girls receive their physical fit- ness by doing various exercises to stimulate the continued growth of strong and healthy bodies. Softball and soccer are enjoyed by the girls. During the winter months they do exercises in the gym, engaging in innumerable activities which are de signed to further stimulate physical fitness.
