That same year we attended a baseball game between the Giants and the Cardinals. ln our sophomore year, we upheld the Christmas caroling tradition at Lindenwood, went to a formal dance at Scott Field, and entertained our sister class, the seniors, at a theater party. Qur junior year brought a song title masquerade for the freshmen. The high point Ol that year was our revival ot the Junior-Senior prom, which furnished many wonderful memories. As seniors, our class had much that was precious upon which to build the climax, and we began the year by a surprise entrance into the dining room to model our new white sweaters and caps with yellOW emblems. During the holiday season we gave a dance, and later entertained our sister class, now sophO- mores, at a dessert-bridge. Cn Skip Day, our class left by special bus for St. Louis where we had break- fast together and enjoyed fulfilling the plans which had accumulated through three other years. MOH Southi' was the theme of the May Fete. The conclusion ol our work and play as a group came with the commencement in June. We, the class of 1947, have lived our college lite through troubled times. An awareness of the world heightened the maturity with which we approached college training, and that same outlook we now carry forth to the homes and careers to which we aspire. We have accomplished much in our three years at Lindenvvood, and vve have created many worthwhile memories. This year has been an especially fulfilling one. At the beginning vve treated our sister class, the freshmen, to a movie, 'faithful in My fashion. ln the spring, the freshmen reciprocated by escorting us to a movie. Unquestionably, the high point of the year vvas the Junior-Senior prom, the second postwar prom at Lindenvvood, l-leld in early May, the dance vvas one that vve shall not soon forget. - Behind us are three happy, vvorl4-filled years. Ahead of us lies our senior yearf After that, vvhO lcnovvs? But the junior class, strong Within itself, feels that it can face the future adequately prepared by Lindenvvood. Perhaps that's what vve have been this year. But what a vvonderlul yearl At last, no longer bound by freshman restrictions, vve have enjoyed a new sense of freedom and maturity. But if We thought vve vvere too intelligent, the sophomore culture tests put us in our proper place. Already Lindenvvood holds countless memories for us-memories vve shall lceep as vve step into the future-the traditional sophomore Christmas carolling, vvhich brought real Yuletide spirit to the campus, the Winter Wonderland dance in January vvith snovvllakes glittering, and sentimental music Filling the air. Then came the lun and laughter of the dessert party given For us by the seniors, and of the party vve gave in return. And vve'll never forget holding the daisy chain as honor guard for the May Queen. I touch to the Lindenvvood campus. This organization reminds us that for many, the War is yet a practica reality, for the Fathers ol these girls serve vvith the occupation forces. The informal meetings and panels largely consist ol discussions upon the post-vvar vvorld, the prob- lems of the occupational force, the possible army-navy merger, and the developments of peace conferences. Loolcing toward the future, the Army and Navy Bratsn have begun the rehabilitation program vvithin their ovvn organization. Converting from vvar to peace, this club has exchanged the tales and vvar stories of Dads campaigns forthe problems ol the post-vvar vvorld and the future. Ql:l:lCEl2S President . . . . . To meet this problem, can you think of a better way to aid a yearbook staff in its work than by our service program, as outlined below? CD Let the staff take the leadership and give full play to its own ideas, thus developing journalistic and business initiative. C25 Provide the necessary technical advice on printing and binding Cand secondarily on photography and engravingb.. C31 Give guidance on planning and maintaining a budget, and on editorial policy and practice. Q45 Provide a forthright informational service for faculty and student committee, including frequent personal conferences. C55 Let the staff benefit from our experience of more than a quarter of a century of printing, binding, and production of college yearbooks. GIVE YOUR YEAnBooK the advantage of our services. Many of the same individuals who handled the yearbooks of your fathers' and mothers' college years are still here to give your book the benelit of their experience.
