C IHA TI ITIES Its purpose The Linden-McKinley H1-Y is an important organization in our school. is to create, maintain and extend throughout the school and community hikh standards of Christian character. Entrance requirements are not too strict, but the boys must be of a type to set a good example for the younger boys. The club has six objectives which are: service to members, service to school, service to community, service to nation, service to the world, and service to God. The officers are, Bob Reed, Presi- dent, Paul Santilli, Vice-President, Enar Anderson, Treasurer, Arthur Martin, Secretary, Bruce Daily, Assistant Secretary, and Clyde Wright, Sergeant at Arms. Other members are Jerry Agler, Milosav Alexich, Ronald Bauchart, Richard Benadum, Nick Bejelis, Don Bordner, Charles Boydston, Mike Bruzzese, Jack Cua, Julius DeAndreas, Eli DeVillers, Chester Donohoe, William Edwards, Bill Endicott, Robert Fisher, Pat Frazzini, Victor Gross, Herb Helder, Fritz Hildebrand, Bob Johnston, Bob Kendall, Jerry Light, Bill Manrlng, Fred Marsh, Richard Martin, Ray Miller, Carl Moxley, John Newland, Don Newman, John Neal, Jim Owen, Al Paolini, Bob Peiter, Joe Puckett, Donald Reed, George Rogers, Bill Saltz, Wayne Saltz, Ed Santo, Meredith Schlatter, Fred Schmidt, Arden Slane, Eddie Slaughter, Nelson Slaughter, Stanley Stewart, Joe Toronto, Dick Tripp, Walter Umbleby, Jack Vrugitz, Ralph Weimer, Neil Wilcox, Bill Zugschwert, Bob Archer, Don Baker, James Bertsch, Benson Haley, Dick Housum, Bob Walston, Myrl Whitmer, Roy Wilson, Don Forney. Senior Girl Reserves The Senior Girl Reserves organization is a junior member of the Y. W. C. A., and the members at Linden-McKinley work on various projects including sewing for the Red Cross, baking goods for the U. S. O., collecting books for servicemen, selling Navy Day tags, and helping at various school functions. Their slogan is 'To face life squarely,' and their purpose is WTO find and give the best.n The faculty advisors are Mrs. Lucile Durea, Mrs. Florence Burqoon and Mrs. May Smith. Girl Reserve officers are Judy Forney, President, Peggy Siegrist, Vice-President, Elizabeth Ulrich, secretary, Gerry Patrick, Treasurer, Sarah Martin, sergeant-at-arms, Jean Roller, Party chairman: Barbara Lee, pin chairman, Joan Redfern, program chairman, Joan Warner, publicity chairman, Rachel Hupp, service chairman, Connie Munro, recogni- tion chairman, Barbara Klein, project chairman. The club has 88 members, consisting of girls from the lOB through the l2A. Senior Girls' Athletic Association A large club open to girls only here in Linden-McKinley is the G. A. A. The G. A. A. is advised by Miss Fischer. In order to become an active member of the club, each new girl must merit 50 points, then, after having her nrough initiationn, she is admitted as an active member of the club. The club was organized in order that senior high girls who were interested in girl's athletics might participate in their own sports. The officers are as follows: President, Ora Bell Wood, Vice-President, . Janet Spaeth, Secretary, Mary Jean O'Brien, Treasurer, Virginia Starkey, and.Sargeant- at-Arms, Jerry Elledze. Journalism Club The Journalism Club is open only to boys and girls of the Senior High. The pur- pose of the club is to pro ote better writing of students throughout the school by encouraging them to submit their writings for the purpose of its inclusion in a school magazine. The magazine will be published at the end of the school year.
