This '45 team finished with a 6665 average winning three and losing two games. The team defeated Westerville, Worthington, Bexley and lost to Arlington and West. They tied for fifth place in the city meet. Jim Webb, who collected 74f points for the season, was the most outstanding member of the team. He won the discus at the Newark Relays, took second at the District Meet and took fifth in the State Meet. There were eight letter winners: Jerry Baker, Nick Bejelis, Jim Koontz, Art Martin, Bob Reed, Gene Thomas, Bob Welston, and Jim Yebb.
