The L-K Majorettes of 1981-82 were more than just a ma- jorette lineg we were friends. Many long, hot hours were spent together practicing under the direction of Head Ma- jorette, Karen Whatley. She worked us very hard because she cared about our line and wanted it to be the best. The songs we twirled to this year were Fame , On Broad- way , I Love a Rainy Night , and Hit Me With Your Best Shot . We achieved a very important goal at the Four States Fair Twirling Contest when we were given the Grand Award. This award meant that we were the best line that had twirled in that contest. Although Karen Whatley, Jackie Auld, and Patty Jones are not pictured with us on this page, they were a part of our 1981-82 majorette line. We all shared the laughs, good times, and bad times together. We have memories that will stay with us the rest of our lives, and no one can ever take them away from us.
