Graduation is often erroneously identified with an end product or goal, while in truth the term implies a transitional stage leading from one level of experience to a still higher plane. Consequently acquisition of the diploma does not indicate a termi- nal point in life but rather a passport to newer horizons and opportrmities. Whether one stagnates and remains static academically, socially or culturally will depend soley on that person's ability to formulate a philosophy of life. This philosophy can be an immature and egocentric one which makes I, my, and me the focal point of life, or it can be a mature one which considers oneself in relationship to so- ciety as a whole. I am confident that the class of '59 will not only enjoy the fruits of our democratic culture but will in return propogate the ideas of their heritage. The future is yours!
